I'm playing on 360 version, just reached the third level and have done a little multiplayer too. I've really enjoyed all the Crysis games so high hopes for this one.
First of all, you really need to install this game to play it. Don't even try and run it from disk as it runs like a dog. Even installed it isn't perfect but if you enjoyed Crysis 2 on console then this has similar performance.
Despite being a really nicely presented game, with a cool "previously on" video and extended tutorial (which takes place outside of the campaign), the opening level is a really weak introduction but don't let that put you off. The opening's dull and bland setting soon gives way to the classic sandbox gameplay that people want out of a Crysis game, except this time they've gone to town - litterally - with the vegetation.
The 'overgrown city' style they've gone for seems to work really well, especially the tall grass which makes for some excellent firefights. In fact the firefights are in general pretty damn good, everything feels solid and the explosions all have a nice kick to them. The bow makes its Crysis debut and although it makes you even more overpowered it is massively satisfying to use. Like all weapons you can customise the bow on the fly, switching between standard arrows, explosive, electric etc. It just works.
Stealth is still stupidly effective at just bypassing everything, especially with the bow (which allows you to stay cloaked), so I recommend wacking the difficulty up a bit. The game has been pretty easy so far.
The graphics are incredible although the big leap forward in console graphics took place in Crysis 2, this is much less of an improvement but the new effects make for one lovely looking game. It sounds fantastic too (amazing soundtrack) but I do have an issue of the sound cutting out every now and then, but that might just be me.
Early on still but it feels much like Crysis 2, except the sandboxes are slightly larger and there are a few new gameplay additions such as secondary objectives, hacking, suit upgrades and challenges. None of these seem to be game changers but they are all welcome.
Multiplayer follows the same template as every post-COD4 shooter, can't really say anything about it except it runs a hell of a lot better than the beta did.
