Injustice: gods amongst us full game review

I managed to play the demo and was taken aback with the graphics especially the screen saver of Wonder Woman vs batman

Zavvi recently offered some pants with the game in an offer and felt well the game looks alright and I need some pants so why not

Anyway managed to play the full game for a little bit of time today and here are quick first impressions

Firstly there is already an update (1.01) which is only 45meg so pretty much acceptable

Graphic's wise its just fantastic and buttons wise is pretty standard fare with weak, medium and hard attacks and super meters

In each level, parts of it are usable to cause pain to the other character or to evade attacks by bouncing off them by pushing the R1 button when you get the indication need your energy bar

Played a little bit of the story mode and you start off as batman and its pretty much a story of good vs bad and the first fight was against death stroke and was taken aback by his super which seemed to come in stages of close attacks, then semi-distant and full screen

His stage includes walls to jump off and pipes that can be broken to freeze the character or poision them

After that fight next was bane who is nothing like his movie character but I guess the comic book fans will reflect that he is more like the comic book character, Bane and lex Luther share the same level who is in a mech suit

Batman's super attack is funny as it includes a range of close attacks followed by his batarang and finally the batmobile driving in and knocking over your opponent

Good list of characters in including a few from green lantern and the most useless super hero in the DC universe (aquaman) actually looks quite mean

Also only seeing green arrow in smallville and arrow he looks alot different

First impressions are good but will need to play more, Wonder Woman looks bloody charming in a non weird sexual gaming phantasy way

Also for those who ordered from zavvi, its meant to come with Arkham city full game DLC but mine didnt

    Sorted that one for you.

Seriously though, really, really enjoying this. As usual for Netherealm there is loads and loads of content, just getting stuck into S.T.A.R labs, which looks like it will keep me occupied for a good long time.

Story mode seems great too, supposedly lasts about 6 hours too, not at all bad for a fighter.

Aquaman is bad ass i hate this preconceived notions that he sucks because of all the dumb internet jokes.

Check your e-mail or account Jason for the DLC code, i got mine from shopto with the Blackest Night and Zombie mode DLC and they sent an e-mail to me and it was on my account.

Anyway the game is awesome. Story mode is sadly a lot shorter than in MK9 at around 4 - 5 hours ( MK9 felt like it went on and on ) this is because in MK9 you played as every character and in this you only play as 10 characters overall and 2 of them are Batman. It was an ok story typical other dimension stuff that's been done a dozen times before.

The graphics when fighting are sublime, everything looks crisp, fantastic textures etc but in the story mode there are some bits where it looks shocking lol, some really poor textures and character models.....but at the end of the day its a fighter so any full on story mode like this is a bonus.

I just love how this flows too, it flows better than MK9 for sure and i think thats mostly down to the 3 button setup, easy cross ups, easy combos, easy cancels and overall simplicity when using background objects and initiating transitions. Everything just feels easy. You can knock out cool little 5- 10 hit combos and juggles with ease and linking supers and specials feels really natural.

The supers as i'm sure a lot of people have seen are fantastic but i feel some of them were a little rushed and a bit more imagination could have gone into them with Hawkgirl, Harley and Killer Frost springing to mind, they aren't bad but when compared to Flash, Green Lantern, Ares, Raven, Superman, Aquaman and Darkseid they just don't cut the mustard.

Overall i really like and it's lived up to my own personal hype. I've sat in practice for a few hours tonight just going through people and seeing who i like and they have done a great job on everyone, a lot of characters i have no interest in as a character are still really fun to play.

Lobo is the first DLC and i'm pretty happy with that, should be interesting to see what they do with him. There are another 3 characters at least planned and i'm hoping for Dr Fate, Swamp Thing and Ragman ( lol yeah right ). It'll probably be Black Canary, Martian Man Hunter and Firestorm but we'll have to wait and see....

Anyone wants to play me my PSN ID is NeoD - Fun, friendly, non competitive games is what i like

yeah that's probably true pal especially with the family guy jokes, but will give him a try

but even seeing him in smallville just seemed a rubbish character but green arrow wasn't great but in the latest TV show he is portrayed quite well as a bad ass

if I get chance I will add you but my internet connection doesn't seem to be great for PSN fighting games or its probably me being rubbish

Had a good crack at story mode today, got up to Green Arrow. Glad to see Aquaman got a good showing, although only two fights? Was hoping for a few more as he is probably my fave DC character, aside from Tim Drake's Robin and maybe Batman. Story has thrown me a little though, as I've been reading the tie-in comics since they started and it hadn't mentioned any alternate dimension stuff, still a lot of fun though.

Going through battle mode as well just to get a feel for more of the characters. So far Captain Marvel is probably who I'm most comfortable with, not a big fan of Black Adam though, thought he would be quick as well, but seems slow with not much reach.

I'll add you NeoD if you don't mind? I've got the PS3 version, and although I'm awful at fighters, wouldn't mind a human opponent for a change.

I feel like I should wait for the WiiU version, but its out now and I have a stick on PS3....Anyone know what the differences are? Is it a decent port like NFS? Or pantaloons like most of the others?

Wii U version is missing some online stuff and DLC. To be fair this is probably more of a pad game - but I'm using a stick all the same. Personally for community reasons I'd go PS3 even if the Wii U is a barren wasteland at the moment!

Well I went for the Wii U Version, as I need more games for it. Its very modern MK in that the punches to me don't feel satisfying enough. I can't quite place my finger on it but even landing a barrage of punches doesn't fulfil me in the same way as one well hit punch does in the SF series. Maybe I just need to sink more time into it.

And the PS4 version. Turns out I do love this game more and more.

I too have never played this game, I was waiting for ages for the original to go down in price, then when the GOTY version came out and at a reduced price to other PS4 launch titles, I had to get it.

I'm really enjoying the story mode so far, in this game... It's a more polished version of the MK fighting engine IMO, combos and special move seem to come out fluidly for me, but it still has those quirks and hallmarks of an MK game, which I don't mind... Back to the story mode I go!

Got this for the Vita because it's currently ridiculously cheap. Not far into it yet. Story is enjoyable though - better than I was expecting. Backgrounds are nicely animated and very atmospheric.

Haven't got the hang of the play style at all yet though. I did the tutorial and then promptly forgot everything so I'm mostly button mashing right now. Can't remember how to interact with the backgrounds and don't know most of the basic moves. Still, I quite like it. Not even two full pages of talk about it here so I'm guessing it didn't go down all that well?

I found it ok the combat just felt a bit to rigid for my taste i thought it really needed more flexibility like they did with Mortal Kombat X.

I hope they get around to a Injustice 2 though that looks as good if not better then MK X
