    Shootmania Storm review

So are you an old school gamer? You grew up with Quake and Unreal Tournament? Well i have a new game for you. Its brought to you from the guys who brought you Trackmania, Nadeo. So you dont weapons per se but just one how would i call it, like the instagib rifle in UT,and one other that you can you in tunnels and thats it. This is a game of pure skill, no camping or perks here just old school dodgying and jumping. There are a few game modes.
Battle gives you team V team for capture to poles you have theses doted around maps and you need to attack and defend these before moving onto the next one, so its like domination but back and forth, there also royal which is every man or woman for themselves, or you can even go one on one in a mode called joust, there also a obstacle course type game which is very difficult but satifying to master.
So fancy trying shootmania you can here http://woobox.com/33nmqa, go sign up and try and see if you have the skills to pay the bills. Its not for the COD or twitch player and requires genuine skill and strategy to win. All this built into Nadeo's leaderboards and player skins and maps.

They did the demo of this at E3 last year, it was cringey.

The game didn't look great either.

Its not for everybody. but if you grew up playing UT in a clan like i did and played Quake at a pretty high level then you cant go wrong, nobody under the age of 30 will get it and havent got the skills or the patience to master it, so im glad its niche, just like trackmania.

          Mister Bubbles: Pro gamer!

When you were growing up, weren't all the consoles using punch cards?

Never saw the appeal of UT 2004 personally (about the time I got into PC gaming, missed original UT) I have 2004 a go and it bored the **** outta me, yeah it was bloody fast paced but man it just seemed so samey after a while.

Joint Ops was the game I was most on at that time, 64 player servers and vehicles to dart about in was always more fun than bouncing around shooting people.

I'm glad Shootmania is around though because it looks like it really does bring back that old style of UT/Quake gameplay and if you liked and enjoyed that, looks like it will be well worth a try.

That E3 demo last year at the Ubi Show was indeed cringe worthy, though that's a typical E3 presentation from Ubi Soft.

The first Unreal Tournament was fantastic, but UT2004 was just quake 3 running in the unreal engine, it was a shadow of the original game.

                I used to play QW, Q2, and Q3 at a respectable clan-level, and I'm still under 30.

Looks alright, if a little too basic for my liking. If you want to play something which at least got some more meat to it I would go with Tribes Ascend.
