All beware this is Iron Galaxy latest offering, so expect the normal ****, award system, screen fliters and options. GGPO is also a pretty terrible online system having used it in the past, hopefully it's been improved for this version.

Still glad to be able to play this on a home console in English will be picking up the Xbox version. Two truely great games that I often still play on my Sega Saturn and a fantasic sound track to boot.

GGPO is hardly terrible. It handles latency wonderfully.

No it doesn't on console and it was widely complained about on release for SF3, you been very lucky if you had all lag free matches.

Only matches I had have been lagged messes, Persona 4 Arena on the other hand has proper lag free net support.

Well I don't know if that's down to the implementation or consoles or not, but everything GGPO I've experienced on PC has been utterly splendid so I'm only speaking from experience. Mind you, this is coming from someone that's previous experience with emulated games online was Kaillera, and that was shocking.

Anything above a 300 ping with other players (UK to US should be getting around 150-200~) and you start to get warping, but that's to be expected. It's amazing GGPO still keeps things synchronised. Kaillera was unplayable if you had anything other than 40ms and the worlds most stable connection, and even then you'd be constantly desynchronising.

As long as all players are at 300ms or lower with this, it's smooth as anything and brilliant.

Just beat the game with my bro as well..

Hmm... This game is quite fun but frankly it's not for everyone .

If you don't mind 90's graphic well.. you might like it.

Makes sense with it being a port of a 90's game.

I've beaten it a couple of times now, but still not managed to go through a full completion while unsealing both cursed swords and defeating the red dragon. Plenty more to go!

FYI - You can unlock House Rules for your game that disallow continues, forcing a 1CC run.

I'll buy this game for the 90's graphics. Plus it sounds like Guardian Heroes which is only a good thing.

Always love the depth to these games, you need a minimum of three playthrough to see all the locations in Shadow over Mystara. Provided of course you take the right characters follow certain paths.

There's a great secret FQA for the Saturn version that tell you all you need on gamefaqs, for those of who are stuck find stuff.

Took me weeks to find everything on the Saturn version and you can't call yourself a true player unless you take on the Dragons.

Always found it odd that only Tower of Doom had a hidden ending and not Shadow over Mystara.

Complete Doom without losing a credit to unlock, in the saturn version you could just have someone join in right at the very end

For anyone that's interested - 3 player completion of Shadow over Mystara on the PC port.

We unsealed Cursed Sword 2, and managed to do Final Strike.

                          Minor swearing ahoy.

Nice, haven't yet managed to 1CC the game myself, would love to be able to did it with all the characters.

Playing the 360 version, I have noticed quite a few issues with the port so far.

                              1. The fade in when you start the game and arrive at the character select screen looks odd and incorrect with a blinking white light effect.
                              2. Intros and Titles screens are missing from both games.
                              3. The frame rate is incorrect and the both games are running slower than the arcade and Sega Saturn port. The frame rate gets worse in altered screen mode such as wide and stretched, 4:3 screen mode is the best but still not correct.
                              4. The music that plays when the Goblin War Machine falls off the cliff is missing
                              5. The intros that plays between the Harpy and Tel'Arin boss battles on the ship is missing, not sure if this was added for the Saturn version or is only in the Japanese Arcade version. That said I haven't tried all versions of the English arcade version yet.
                              6. The dialog spoken by the Tel'Eleronr (Green armoured Elf) after he is killed by Synn is missing, again could be a Saturn only change.
                              7. None of the concept art is from the D&D Capcpm video game, they have instead used pictures done by TSR for the D&D roleplay game. The Saturn version manual is full of Capcom art work done for the game none of it is present in this version.
                              8. Arcade version had 8 differculty levels in dipswitches this is missing 4 of them.

I was hoping Hardcoregaming 101 might be able to shed some light on if there were any Saturn/Arcade changes between version. Sadly the only feature I could find was full of mistake, which is very rare for hardcoregaming.

Sketcz, if you read this drop me a list and I'll detail some of the errors I saw in that feature.
