I have checked out the games forum and it seems that when in adventure mode crashing seems to be an issue, looks like they are getting a hot fix ready.

    Tip from me.

If you can setup camp in a pig village it offers great protection as they will attack wolfs/spiders etc. Being near Beefalo also is good as they will attack wolfs too but also yourself so be careful!

If your killing Beefalo for meat keep a few alive as they will have babies that then grow into adult Beefalo!

I've reached Adventure mode via the main game (presumably I can now start in that mode?) and I didn't have a crash, I did get burned alive in a Forrest fire though! In Sandbox mode, you wake up back at Maxwell's Door as you were before you entered it. I've got as far as Day 22 and again it was all going so well up to Day 18 or 19. Firstly I was killed by some Eye Plant in the night, my own fault for venturing out to see whether it was friend or foe but I was resurrected by the first of two activated Touch Stones. I didn't realise that Winter begins at Day 20 and I was completely unprepared for the change in season. On Day 21, worried where the continual food was going to come from, I attacked a Penguingull, only the flock replied in kind and I was pretty much instantly killed. Touch Stone 2 revived me again but before I could make it back to my camp and supplies, I froze to death.

Tried this game again tonight and just can't click with it. Such a shame, would have been gutted if I had paid for it rather than PS+, was so looking forward to it before release.

Got to say it bores me as much as anything, guess survival games like this aren't for me.

EDIT: to totally go against what I said above, had another go and took things much slower rather than trying to do everything on the first day etc.
And for some reason I thought save and quit meant you could only reload once, didn't realise you could save and reload as many times as you wanted as long as you didn't die.

DLC arrives on PS4 next week, around three quid, not sure this is a game I want to return to personally after the up and down experience originally

Reign of Giants, the first expansion for indie roguelike Don't Starve, launches on PlayStation 4 next week.

Reign of Giants, the first expansion for indie roguelike Don't Starve, launches on PlayStation 4 next week.

The add-on will be available to download on Wednesday, 23rd July, priced at the UK equivalent of $4.99 (about ?2.99). There's also a 10 per cent launch discount for PlayStation Plus subscribers, developer Klei Entertainment confirmed via the game's official forum.

Reign of Giants adds two new playable characters and another unforgiving world to survive in - this time for a whole year.

Klei first launched the DLC on PC back in May and is currently trialling an alpha version of the game's free multiplayer mode, Don't Starve Together. There's no word yet on a PS4 release for that.

I'm all over DLC for 3 quid! I really enjoy Don't Starve and he randomness of each play getting to know the character is good too. Love getting really deep into a map can easily come crashing down though. Still find it very difficult after seasons start to change and have to jump down holes. Will definitely give this DLC a go as sounds and looks fun.
