The invading system in DS2 is a lot better and less laggy as well, was playing DS1 on Friday and just had laggy fights one after the other pretty sure many of them were cheating, backstabs while infront of me?

The Bosses in DS are much better fights had forgotton how good they were, that said got to the Knight Artorias fight in the DLC for the first time it's really nasty and require some serious stamina and speed to dodge and block many of his attacks, once he does his dark aura some can't be dodge.

I found the Artorias fight to be the easiest in the DLC :P But that's going OT in this thread.

does the PC features upgraded textures? if not Darks Souls 2 must surely look horrible in 4K.

The textures are better - not night and day, but noticeably so. Either way, the higher resolution and frame rates make it. Especially with downsampling - it really does look super crisp and sexy in motion.

finished the "main quest" last night at Lv. 136 and roughly 110 hours. needless to say the ending cutscene was lazy as ever. i beat all bosses except from King Vendrick, Royal Rat King and the Ancient Dragon. i could not find the 5th Giant Soul to take on King Vendrick in "normal state" - if anybody found it please let me know where. also, from the videos i saw, the Ancient Dragon battle can't be done co-op and would just be too much of a pain to go through, so i didn't even try. time to say goodbye to Drangleic i think... for now...

                  The souls are found

in the three Memories of Giants, one is dropped by the Ancient Dragon, one is dropped by the two Giants in the Black Gulch.

                  Even with just four,

you should be able to do around 200 damage to Vendrick, thouch it will take a few hits for him to actually acknowledge you. After that, it's just a battle of patience if you have a 100% physical protection shield.

                  Did you fought the

                  Darklurker

                  ?

yes, i got these 4 Giant Souls already, but there must be a 5th somewhere, right?

and no i didn't fight this boss, i wouldn't even know where to find it. have i missed something worthwhile?

                      The fifth is dropped

                      by the Ancient Dragon

                      , and no.

                        so the

                        Ancient Dragon

is a Giant too? hmm... not very obvious or even logical is it? however, thanks mate!

Just about to delve into the

                          giants' memories

sequence now. Was delighted by the leap in graphic/art design quality in the approach up to

                          the ancient dragon

. Amazing what a bit of dramatic shadow can do! Really exposes the visual drabness of the major part of the rest of the game.

                            The

                            Ancient Dragon

                            is...big, almost gigantic I'd say.

Summoned NPC for final boss fight and he managed to chuck himself off a bridge before we even got there. I was expecting another 'This Is Dark Souls' trophy. Ah well, finished now. 80 hours with lvl 151 cleric-tank. Solid game, especially much improved covenant systems, but otherwise comprehensively outdone by previous games for imaginative and memorable locations and bosses. The torch mechanic seemed to get forgotten about after the first third, which meant dreary washed out lighting for much of the game, which spoilt the atmosphere for me quite a lot. Thought the dialogue and voice acting - with their strong regional accents/dialects - were superb, but the overall plot, which has now been firmly embedded in the lore of

an inescapably endless recurrence of the same scenarios

, is for me the last thing the series needs. I don't think I need to encounter any more

                              deranged kings

. I hope Hidetaka Miyazaki has used his time 'away' to think of ways to refresh things a bit. An E3 reveal would be nice. Dark Souls In Space, that's what I predict: Deep Souls.

Glad you enjoyed it Golgo. This game is good facing it mostly solo the first time through (with occasional NPC assistance), then co-oping with your friend upon a 2nd playthrough. In my personal experience I've found the majority of encounters and boss battles much more riveting when your friends and you are trying to outwit the various demons' swathe of attacks and blows.

Ready for more Souls come E3 please From.
