Wolfenstein: The New Order review

Just finished this and loved it, oddly touching in places and as others have mentioned its damn good fun.

Completed it now. I knocked down the difficulty for the last few levels as it was dragging and some of the difficulty spikes were irritating me.

Old school FPS, large number of levels, great art design, super wonderful 60FPS, Rage engine unchanged and still bad close to objects, dark humor and actually an OK story.

The ending was interesting.

have ruined the life of the female evil lord by damaging her face and killing her lover. The climatic end of killing the mail evil lord left me cold. Not satisfying at all.

Just completed it on the second to top difficulty - best FPS I've played in ages. Really, really enjoyed it

Just finished it, some bits were really, really good but overall it was a bit average.

I thought it was funny that if you set subtitles to "foreign voices" the Scottish guy is subtitled!

Got up to chapter 12 on this yesterday, I expect I'll finish it off today. At times you think to yourself it's starting to click as a game, only to then piss about doing some sort of blatantly filler mission which is obviously just in there to pad the game out. Oddly it seems to get a bit better looking as it goes on instead of the usual starting big then fading off. I suppose the funniest bit about it for me being Scottish is the Scotsman in it and they've managed to have him swear in the right context. Never thought I'd hear the phrase "baw bag" in a game..........

I played the first three chapters myself last night but I'm finding it a bit different from above, utterly average in pretty much every way to be honest. I'll probably just burn through it this weekend then sell it on.

Loving this!

Picked it up today and have reached the start of chapter 5. It's just so ridiculously over the top that I sit grinning as I play.

Looks nice on PS4. Smooth, detailed and responsive.

It is a little easy. A few retries here and there but nothing too taxing.

Totally better than I was expecting.

the shooting sections are great, but there seems to be too many fetch 'story driven' sections which i'm finding a drag

Last boss fight soured this for me...in the end I just dropped the difficulty to get it done. All plans for a collectibles mop up go out the window too.

Mostly enjoyable...nice and smooth with a good story. But awful a.i and a few other niggles mean I am giving it 70.5%

I love the boss fight.

Its basically old school FPS style, just unload and don't stand still, use the pillars and walls for a breather. The fire adds to the tension and is a way to notice his health. I really think a lot of gamers are spoilt by gimmicks. I was running around trying to find a gimmick, until I noticed I just had empty my LKW and rockets on him.

Players who want the Uber trophy without too much effort, you can just replay Chapter 16 on Uber and get the trophy.

I think it even works when you use the enigma code for 999 health and infinite ammo mode.
