loved Far Cry 3 but this one is one is giving me a hard time. i am roughly 5 hours in and finding the story and characters neither appealing nor intertesting. the Himalayan setting is nice but the story and action don't really fit in here. gunplay is poor, weapons feel underpowered whereas enemies are ridiculously overpowered and can only be downed by precision headshots. even hunting dear becomes a challenge since most of the animals are also bulletproof and suck up to 5 sniper shots or 30 rounds from an AK. due to constantly dying i've already switched to easy difficulty but this doesn't do much i have the feeling.
technically the game is a mixed bag on Xbox One. it delivers visuals which range from dull to very impressive, depending on the surrounding. voiceovers are not lip synced, the textures can look very rough and flat and the draw distance could be better. lighting and shadows are very last gen. on the positve side characters look fantastic, there's next to no pop-in and the framerate seems rock solid so far.
was Far Cry 3 really so much better? or am i just spoiled by Destiny, which is currently the benchmark when it comes to first person shooting
