The companion banter in this when out in the field is superb, makes it a real delight to take different teams just to see what they come out with (glad I haven't encountered the 'no banter' bug). Iron Bull and Solas arguing the toss is my fave so far.

Totally agreed about the banter and is the main reason why I've changed my party from my usual - Cassandra, Dorian, Solas. Now plenty with Iron Bull, Sera, Blackwall.

Iron Bull plus Vivienne is also very amusing.

I literally spent the entire day on Saturday playing this. I'm up to 36 hours played in a week...

Anyway! 2H warrior reaver is in action- silly damage, but still takes too much- it'll remain this way until I level the reaver tree, which starts to drain enemies HP while you pummel them

Cassandra is ignoring her Templar specialisation tree, and going into vanguard for more guard/defense alongside her maxed Sword and shield tree.

Sera is quite powerful, and saves my ass regularly by sleeping and exploding multiple targets as an archer- and her specialisation allows her to drink potions which give her more armour, and removes all cool downs for a set period- nice.

Vivienne as Knight Enchanter is silly overpowered- she gets a lightsaber which regens shield every time she hits something... More than once she has outlasted both my 2H and Cassandra and finished a battle on her own while being swarmed...my goal is for her to beat a dragon single handed

Gear on nightmare mode is damned important, and keeping everyone specced up with the best runes and grips is a necessity. Level 13 now, I can't see how people spent nearly 200 hours on a playthrough- there's so much to do!!

Still unsure about the romance yet, I'm picking the romance options with everyone to be honest!! My character and Cassandra look like a power couple though- may have to be her. Plus- bare breasts are always a winner

If you play a male character and prefer it straight Cassandra is really your only option. Josephine is pretty boring anyway. Her "romance" scene plays out accordingly. Just be aware you can't opt out once you are engaged with Cassandra. so if you want a bit of variety in your love life take on Josephine first and the break up with her immediately.

I was tempted by the lil dwarven woman voiced by the same woman as Lightning in FF13, but right now I'm flirting with them all

Cassandra is very amusing though, she's actually not quite the archetype I thought she was- the characters in this- as always with DA- are very well written and deeply layered.

yes i know which dwarfen woman you mean. she is really cute but unfourtunately can just be flirted with. here is hope that future PC mods might add more "romance" options for the game.

Cassandra is actually pretty well written and voiced with her french accent, i just wish she could stand straight as a proper Warrior and wouldn't walk like a duck all the time.

Damn there's a lot to do in this game! Only just got to
, and now I have what looks like an entire evening of gaming just running around chatting to people. Might have to press on with some story missions before I get dialogue-tree, menu and collect-em-up fatigue.

I did that when I got to skyhold, spent about 3 hours there before I left!

Also, all the areas up to that point I had cleared, and loads of quests opened up in them!! Damn!!

I think all the side-quests and collectibles may prove too much for my tastes but I'll see it through to completion. Current team is about level 11 and got about 50 or 60 power points in the bank so hopefully that's enough to take me through a good chunk of story. Herded a Druffalo back to its pasture yesterday - that 'quest' did me in.

Try not to burn yourself out, don't be afraid to do a story mission inbetween- as I said, you could easily spent 200 hours on this- and the level cap is above the usual Bioware level 20.

At least try to do the companion quests- they're usually very good. Iron Bulls and Dorians so far have been brilliant- and they've all got more than one too.

Also- Cassandra and Varrics book Hijinxs

there is freedom to take on the game your own pace, hence no need to do anything you don't like to do. if you feel tired of chatting and sightseeing just start the next story mission or do a sidequest that earns you the power for unlocking. as simple as that.

anyone knows what the level cap is? maybe 25? i am level 23 now and maybe with some remainig quests and 2 dragons left i could reach level 24. then i am pretty much done i believe.

I'm beginning to see some of the silly frustrations with the combat system. Is there a way to prevent ranged fighters from rushing in and standing toe-to-toe with heavy-hitting melee enemies? You can move them to distance either manually or via tactical camera, but the moment you take your eye off them they will - more often that not - rush in again. Am I missing something simple?

ps.: spent 2 hour just 'housekeeping' in the castle, and still haven't explored it all. It's mahoosive.

When you're in the tactical cam, double click x on the position you want them to move too, rather than single tap- it will come up as an order for "hold position" and they will attack the enemy from there.

If you only single tap, it's just a move order and they will follow their battle tactics after they've moved.

There's a particular puzzle involving switches being pulled in a certain order that you'll be thankful that I told you for!!

Killed my first Dragon on nightmare last night, Vivienne as Knight enchanter is silly powerful, and outlasts my tanks!

The scenes with Iron Bull after the dragon fight are genius.
