Couple of vids I need to watch.
One with some Wing Diver weapons you might miss when you go straight to the highest powered and one with tips on making the Fencer the fastest class in the game.
Higher level weapons on both, for sure, but it's coming sooner or later, squad!

Popped on last night for an "hour" and nobody was on, so I had another stab at that farming mission.
Did it no problem as ranger but all the loot was upgrades, rather than new, so I upped the difficulty.

      Nope.

Stupid woodlice demolished the rocks I was hiding behind. I thought they were indestructible!
I might need a rethink because it works really well for a while.

Then I had some people join, so it mixed things up a bit.
Everyone died and I held out for ages until they destroyed my cave.
Disappointed I didn't take us to victory.
      Maybe shotguns over rifles?

Had another crack. Brought the BRUTE helicopter that has cannons either side, but nothing for the pilot.
I was hovering around the ranger for ages until he clicked and got inside, but I'd used a load of fuel and armour.
He took out a load of lice and we managed to claw our way to victory.
Missed a load of crates, but a win is a win.

Then we did the wasp nest mission where you can destroy it.
Done it on NORMAL and it's do-able, but it gets crazy on HARD.
      Wasps, then queen on normal.
Wasps then queen and ants and drones on HARD!
Tried a couple of tactics and found the most effective was my ranger dropping 20 bombs around the hive.
That seemed to weaken it really quickly, but left me exposed to wasp stings.
Wing Diver knew what I was doing and got me on my feet a couple of times, but ultimately I went to bed with the mission undefeated.

There's a right weapon combo out there, but I'm not at that point yet.
It's definitely worth working through NORMAL to get weapons and armour in prep for the tougher levels.
I can't imagine these on HARDEST or INFERNO! :O

      In summary:

I've done on Inferno but took me ages to get there and even then I used the top spec ME launcher plus the highest spec shotgun which has a very long range so can be used on the queens.

I'd recommend a similar route, an ME launcher to get rid of the flying stuff plus a sniper weapon with a quick fire rate, your effective way is spot-on, if you don't damage the nest the level won't end. If you shoot facing the nest as much as possible when using the sniper, missed shots will hit the nest along with those shots meant to hit the nest. Also if you can target groups of wasps as they start a swarm at one of the nest entrances then the explosions from the ME launcher will also add a damage count.

I'm not saying it's easy, it's really tough and a bloody hard slog. Never played online but the offline has quite a few soldiers for help and it's really to your advantage to try and keep them alive so standing in an almost fixed spot and letting rip with the launcher making sure all the pickups land in clumps helps a lot when you need to grab some life.

Still enjoying all the updates, great stuff.

Was so tired last night. Felt sluggish and kept falling asleep holding the pad. Some good missions, though.

Chimpy’s getting a high percentage completion by picking different classes all the time and playing through on normal, while his squad do all the grunt work. I know your game, boy.

You're just bitter because VP kept booting you from the room.

Did some good co-op tactics last night, where Kryss and VP used lock-on weapons and I brought my laser guidance kit that paints a marker on a target and leads all the missiles to it.

Made the first double dino mission go smoother, for sure.

If you zoom in, you can see the cheeky EDF stencilled on the missiles!

Last mission with VP was the one on the massive field with loads of approaching frogs etc.
I was using a strafing run command and we were hitting so much stuff, it instantly reloaded.

Had a session of total gashery this morning.

A cave session where I spent most of the time getting got off red ants, picked up and noshed while my bloke goes ‘uhh uhhh uhh uhhh’. Worst porno ever.

It was just tedious and frustrating. I don’t like the red ant charge-and-chow move. Never have. I completed the level on hard, but it was as enjoyable as getting violated.

The next mission redefined that definition of tedium. The first encounter with Big Blue the Kaiju. Jesus. Total boredom. You’ve got a great monster there. It’s big, brash and sexy. And yet, you spend twenty minutes pummelling away at it for no reason whatsoever. It’s a pointless dirge-like drag.

                  Dino missions definitely drag.
They'd have more impact if he smashed stuff up and then left with cries of "he's invincible!"
It's not like they're good farming missions or anything.
Deffo miss other players when you're getting repeatedly chomped.

I thought getting noshed off would be fun.

                    Nope.

On another note, last night I entered a room that had 3 other players. A variety of completion percentages.
                    I had 12.03%
                    Another had 10.14%
                    A third had 99.59%
                    The fourth was at 100%.

Yep, these levels I leave alone think I've just done them on Easy or Normal to get past them.

I started a room last night and planned to do the first few levels with Ranger as I'd not done them with him yet. @kryss joined me and we did the first couple.

Then a guy joined and asked if we wanted limits off.
The fool didn't realise you need 70% complete to unlock.
Went back into the lobby and saw he was at some ridiculous health level and 100% completion.
He started a new room and we joined him and his mate (86%) and he took us through a few levels, starting with the first Yellow mech mission outside the base.

It was quite funny as I didn't notice he'd upped it from HARD to INFERNO and the frogs tour me apart.
Eventually realised I was supposed to hide until he called an ambulance, then drive around Hoovering up the collectables.
Did a couple of other missions, but it was mainly us hiding whilst him and his mate decimated everything.

It was very kind and got lots of stuff, but ultimately it's high-level kit we can't use in our standard progression yet and it was a bit boring, which is what EDF should never be! We were a bit relieved when he had to go, but it shows that there's the kit and tactics to complete INFERNO when the time comes! Quite enjoyed watching him hide in the base entrance, firing off those Roomba bombs, causing devastation.

After that, @Breakfast Boy was a surprise guest as me munched his microwaved cornflakes before work and we did a handful of those earlier levels. Up to 18% now, but we have a long way to go!

Got online and another 100%er came in, but he just joined us on the missions, which was a lot more fun than hiding whilst Superman does all the work.

Still just doing some Ranger missions that I'd missed, but I've done a good chunk with all but the Fencer now.
                          Hit 20% completion rate.

I love how the experience varies between classes and difficulties.

Yeah, that's one of my fave missions you came in at - a city full of aliens skulking between the buildings.
It was a bit too much for me alone, so I'm glad you rocked up.
Loved the grenade launcher/shotgun combo. GL got the greys legless at a distance, ran up and shotgun finished them off in close quarters. Ker-chak-chak!

Tripods in the fog is another atmospheric one not long after.

I was saved by the bell by @Zack Morris last night as I struggled to take down some ships solo as a Ranger, but his Wing Diver made short work of them. Nice!

Did a handful of missions together after than and blazed through them with a combination of firepower, determination and dumb luck.
One mission sees the mothership firing green megablasts. You dodge those and advanced drones, spiders, ants and aliens. Absolutely manic as your dodging all the attacks whilst the world is yellow as it catches fire.

Finally convinced a mate IRL (although IRL is becoming more virtual these days) to get it!
Can't wait to show him the ropes and hear his gasps of surprise as it ups the excitement every few levels with new enemies.
