I got this off the hype on Twitch (who are also owned by Amazon of course) and as someone who hasn't played an MMO since Guild Wars wasn't really sure if I still had the patience to play this.
To my shock, I really like it. In fact, I look forward to playing it after dinner each night.
The game is a very pretty MMO which basically means you get a character and set off into the world (after carefully choosing a server) and start doing tasks for player XP, ability and weapon upgrades. Tasks are pretty straightforward so far and involve killing things or exploring areas to look for clues which help drive the overall narrative.
It's pretty addicitve when you start levelling up and crafting new things. I think there are random drops from completing tasks such as clothing or weapons. Not always useful things but I got a green and gold tunic which made me stand out from the other characters on the server.
I have been playing with a mate so far and it is great doing tasks together. It's also much easier as some enemies are getting tougher to defeat.
On the technical front, I have had no issues with server queues at all but I picked a quiet server rather than a busy one. Game runs smoothly at 60fps in 1440p (I capped it) and everything just runs well - aside from one time when my mate got stuck in a wall.
That's it really. Really like this and, as mentioned, this is normally the type of game I steer well clear of and I would definitely class this as a game for anyone, even noobs to MMOs.
