My favourite things about these videos are that I watch them and forget you also have mic audio on until the end when the celebration happens

I'm having to remember to exalt "EAT IT!" each time I win now, but I'm enjoying carrying on the theme of the series.

Flattered you're watching to the end, to be fair! Thanks!

EDIT: I still love listening to my daughter's Mimic Tear Theme as I'm sneaking around!

The Grand Lift of Rold took me to a place I feel a bit underpowered for so I backed up a little, headed west to Volcano Manor. This feels a bit more more hospitable. Managed to have a decent mooch around and killed Godskin Noble. Feels like there's still lots to see in the area. One thing I have noticed is my fp doesn't cover many of the summons I've collected so I think I'll have to put a few points into Mind.

Ha, yeah it's funny how when you hit something, expecting it to fall over and you barely dent its health and you know you done effed up.

Currently popping stats into my Intelligence so I can use that moonsword thing, but I have so far to go, I'm thinking I'd be better pumping those runes into FP stats or something I know I use.
I'm worried I'll spend ages getting another 10 levels or something silly, only to find I don't click with the weapon.

Playing Elden Ring with just the mind!

So, after beating the Super Gargoyle Bros. and heading up Coffin Elevator to the Deeproot Depths, I spent a bit of time clearing it out.

I'll be honest, this is the first area that's looked a bit rubbish. I dunno, the tree branches look rubbish close up (and you have to climb a lot of them), the water effects are minimal and it feels like there's a lot of pattern repeating.
First time the game's looked last-gen.

However, it's a fun area, packed with headless ghost knights, madness lizards and a couple of invulnerable bears.
Just mooching around, I got onto that walking temple thing and sadly, it took out all the soldiers so I can't farm them.
The lizards and flamethrower towers remain though.
I ain't going near them bears!

However, I've cleared the area and I could just tell there was a massive boss battle incoming, so I called in the assistance of my bodyguard, the one and only Zaki !

Surprisingly, the giant fish head thing with flies buzzing round wasn't the boss, but it summoned 3 bosses in a row and then all three at the same time!
Aced the individual rounds with a combo of Zaki's spells and my trident, but I died when all three piled in.
HOWEVER, Zakster killed the last one as YOU DIED popped and it still classed it as a win, so got the win!

I then went through the portal to a different way in to the capital and we spent a while working out where we both were so we could re-summon, eventually finding each other again.

Had a mooch around, picking up loot and heading towards the tree boss.

            Zaki was hilariously overpowered!

We were invaded a couple of times and the first guy just melted for looking at us funny.
Another guy invaded in the capital and he got booted off a ledge but survived, then spent ages firing arrows at us until Zaki had enough of this gnat and cast a spell that turned the guy's innards into outtards.

A tree guardian turned up and I stopped to tie my shoelaces and Zaki had carved him into a chair.

One for the family photo album:

Yeah, it's always a considered choice when levelling (although my son assures me you can re-spec) ... especially now it's getting pricey. I'm so stuck in my ways though ... sword and shield ... decent dps and agility and that's about it. I really should explore some of the magics and stuff. But the Souls games have always accommodated all builds amazingly.

I know I've said it before but the size of the world and sheer amount of content is mind-blowing. Had I been playing it last year it would have been goty, no doubt at all.

EDIT: ^^^ top adventuring with Zaki (for hire) ^^^

Zaki and I had completely different builds and were approaching the game in different ways.
I have to get close, whereas he was taking stuff out from afar.
I'm guessing he's more squishy, but nothing got close to him to test that!

                That trident is ace, though.
You still have to be careful as you make yourself vulnerable during casting.
Also, it kinda takes out any element of skill, whereas I'd been using rolls and attacks to win previously.

I was looking at some other katana builds now I have that giant one from the other samurai.

Literally, level one hundred+, hours in and I've only just learned how to cast a spell!
Looked at how to use the Physik flask too!
It really doesn't hold your hand!

I've still got all the capital, Altus, the volcano area and eventually the snowy plateau, so loads still to discover.

Had to laugh at the lore though. I was getting a cuddle off some death maiden or something and the guff she was spewing was pure bobbins. Enough to take a screenshot, it was so ludicrous!

You will have a few Larval Tears by now if you take these to, Rennala at Raya Lucaria Academy, she offers you a service called rebirth. This takes you back to your characters base stats and lets you reallocate all your levels to whatever you like. So if you do find that you've plowed a load of levels into a skill that your not using you can reallocate them into something useful. You don't get loads of larval tears but you get enough to respec your character a good few times even with repsecing a few times i still had ten left at the end of my first run. I used it to move to an arcane build late game so i could use the rivers of blood Katana more effectively.

                  Edit----

be careful with her she gives you a debuff that makes you take 5% more damage, the thing she puts in your inventory Baldachin’s Blessing removes the debuff and give you more poise so its worth using just before boss fights. or if you dont want to be taking the 5% extra damage use it straight away.

                    Amazing, cheers 'bowski.

She said if I'd like rebirth and that sounded wrong on every level and was worried I'd be level one again or something.

                    Well worth knowing, cheers!

Just seen the edit. Think I've had that debuff from the single-digit levels, so just accepted it.
She left the Round Table ages ago.
Worth knowing I can temp remove it though.

Guess I'm a sucker for a nice cwtch.

Not temp you can completely remove the debuff it if you use that item, You could visit her multiple times before she moves on to get the item again and again. you only ever get one -5 form her and one of the item at a time.

I got complacent last night and lost a ton of runes. Twice. It was most disheartening but I closed the sesh by cheesing the Black Blade Kindred at Dragonbarrow. It's such an obvious cheese too. I told my son I'd beaten him (he finished the game last year) and he said 'did you hide in the building?' ... yes, yes I did do that. And then a chucked a couple of points into Mind with the aim of taking it up to triple figures to use some of the stronger summons.

After using the mangy dawg for a bit, I swapped to Mimic Tear and haven't looked back.
I've used the archer one a couple of times, which is like this sweet turret.
Now I have Black Knife, I should probably upgrade that and try her as she's supposed to be ace too.

I'm not bothering upgrading Intelligence for that sword as I think the points will be better spent elsewhere and maybe pursue a bleed build. I watched a video that said there's some good armour from one of the Volcano Manor hitman requests. I didn't realise how to get more, but you have to go back to the dining room and pick up another letter. Like, can't the lady of the manor say "Sweet, here's the next quest", rather than saying absolutely nothing and just expecting you to have a rummage around her gaff for challenges like you're on Fun House or Finders Keepers?

Anyway, had a right faff getting to where the next hit is, fighting those big pumpkinhead guys, giants and a whole battalion of soldiers with trebuchets.

Invaded his world and the controls seemed to freeze, neither attacking or Finessing when he had a sliver of health.
Boots you out and your runes are right there, so no biggie. Went back in and showed him the majestic power of my trident.

Went back, spoke to Madame Volcano, did some more "Through The Keyhole" rummaging and got 2 more quests. One of which is the bull with the sweet armour.

Here's the bleed build I'm investigating:

That's a pretty natty build. My magic bar is about 15mm long so I'm a little way off that one

I did an invader quest this week for Madame Volcano too. Didn't know there were more ... I'll have to be more nosey and scour the place for more.
