Eye of the Temple [VR, Quest]

This has been available on a few platforms for a while, but it finally came to Oculus Quest.

This is quite different as VR games go, but also one of those games which is purpose-built for VR.

Essentially it's a game with aesthetics similar to Tomb Raider, where you're trying to infiltrate an ancient temple to find the treasures inside.

What makes it unique is how it handles movement.

You must play the game in a 2m x 2m playspace; no smaller, no bigger. That will immediately cut out a lot of people, which is a shame, but it's to do with how the game works.

In-game, you move entirely by walking around the playspace. This involves stepping on/off moving platforms, which are cleverly designed in such a way that, although in real life you're only ever moving a few feet in any direction (and always being turned around and walking back on yourself), you get the sense of travelling longer distances. You also have cool touches, like areas which require you to duck, to stand laterally to squeeze between obstacles, and rolling blocks which require you to walk backwards to stay on top of them.

Additionally, you have a whip, which automatically unfurls when you need it - and due to the level design, it will only ever unfurl when you're in the middle of your playspace, to ensure you never hit anything while using it.

We've only played the very start of it, but it seems really fun. Plus I expect you'll see a lot of streamers playing it (again) due to the Quest release, and that AR functionality in the trailer (that's not just in the trailer, you can do that yourself with the right hardware).
