Is there reason enough to buy it for the single player alone? I mean its not that bad is it?

Its just that it looks so lush and at this point I'm finding it hard to resist, even if its is a glorified Gauntlet.

Played a bit more today, and am finding it not too bad. It is definitely a game that benefits from having more than one player, but I am finding the single player mode not too bad.

As to whether the single player mode alone warrants buying it.. I wouldn't like to say either way to be honest . If you don't mind the kind of Gauntlet thing on your own then I think you'll find it quite fun though.

I?ve sadly had to sell this today? however will most definitely purchase again.

From what I?ve played today, and from my playtime with the Japanese version, I simply adore it. The English Language version is obviously far more enjoyable for me as I can appreciate all the descriptions of the items, spells etc etc, and have a firmer grasp on the story. Unlike Wind Waker, playing the US version over the JP definitely is far more beneficial.

I find the whole feel of the game truly relaxing. The beautiful environments and soothing music send me in a totally stress-free state. The combat is somewhat easy and lacks variation, but im sure that sort of thing increases as you progress through the game. I?ve only been playing on my own, and when I finally buy it again, will continue to do so, but I don?t feel that the single player is bad at all. Just depends on the state in which you play it and what you want out from it.

Obviously much has already been said about the music and graphics, but I really need to mention the special effects when casting magic in particular? it looks so? so?. Liquidy (im aware this isn?t a word. heh). Its great. So many different colours. Such a joy to look at and so relaxing to play. Just what I was looking for in the title tbh.

        Need to buy again?

Why did you sell your copy if you were enjoying it Adam?

And, has anyone received their FF:CC from DVDBO yet through standard free shipping?

          Need....FF:CC

So is the general opinion you need the US version to get the most out of this game? Or will the JAP version do just fine?

Mr Sarkster sir, I sadly sold it due to needed money desperately. A few games had to go, however there was no doubting FF CC would be the easiest to sell. I shall buy it again, I can live without for a few months, just a shame really.

Mr 007, I would say so. Even though im not totally against playing the JP versions before or instead of US/UK, sometimes I feel it can really add a great deal more to the experience, however FFCC is one of the titles that needs to be in English (or with some understanding of the Japanese language).

The game can feel quite shallow if your not aware of all the little individual pieces of plot line, and without all the little things like receiving letters, understanding items and spells, who your family is and their importance, words within a diary as you progress etc etc, there is no way near as much enjoyment to be had. You will just feel it is a soulless, shallow, gauntlet. But it can and should be more then that?

Yes - absoloutely correct. There are plenty of diversions to add depth to the game, but they are all rather depending on you understanding the language.

Currently whizzing back through a few of the first areas to find the Moogle houses so I can complete my stamp book. It's not an outstanding game by any means, but I am enjoying it in any case.

You've gotta love the whole atmosphere of the game though I remember Charles's meet where we tried to get a 4 player game going, and everyone just looked on in awe at that intro.

But my extremely drunken explanation of how to actually play the game ensured that we gave up fairly quickly

This games' by no means a must-buy, but it's worth it just for a play-around. The combat is far too annoying and simple to allow for extended play.

One thing though that I couldn't get from the JPN one is, what were the things like Mythril used for?

My uncle is thinking of picking this up, since i myself have got GBA+lead we'd both go through it.

He's a big fan FF and i hate it. But if it's more hack n slash like whats been said on here i can live with it.

So, worth the investure if two people play?

Heh, I got that as well. Nice surprise .

TheShend: Aye, I would have thought so. You will both need a GBA and a connecting cable each, though.

                                just recieved mine as well!
Although would have prefered if you could've chosen the shirt size..
Kinda extortion that you would have to buy FOUR gba's to play 4 player.
That better be some real good multiplayer action!
