    That's what I thought Valken

saying that though, it only took me about 35 minutes to get on the other night so I may try again later this evening...

Heh, that's just Marklar flame baiting!

Connection problems are very real. I still cannot play anything over a 5-person match. When I connect to a 5-person match, my connection always shows as an X, the host will usually tell me my name is blinking red, and people start getting booted off the match. If I join a 5-person match, I don't have any problems.

As for the Quasar, I don't usually carry a railgun. The 355-rf is enough to keep me happy.

As a side note, being on the receiving end of an Earthshaker's Gauss weapon is pretty funny.

I thought the Railgun was fixed on a Quasar? It is in the first game, IIRC...

(I've yet to touch one for use in FB; I'm HSD in Campaign - it's our prototype, why didn't we 'ave it! )

That Gauss cannon is mad though; been shut down a few times in a fight, 'cept I haven't seen anybody who has made good use of it, always using it a max range

It's not fixed. The only VTs which have fixed railguns in LoC are the Prominence M2 and M3, I believe. Possibly the Juggernaut, but we'll have to wait until tonight to find that out.

Because the Jarjars you guys hired didn't do a very good job of looking after it.

I played a match that had a couple of friends piloting a pair of Earthshakers they had just touched. They were having fun shutting everyone else down. I thought it was funny, but the other Quasar pilot in the match sounded like he was about to pop a blood vessel over it.

Funniest part came 20 minutes into the match when I got close enough to one of the Earthshakers to torch him. I kept knocking him over as payback for the Gauss shutdowns. His friend then tried to Gauss me to get me off his back, and ended up shutting both of us down. As soon as we both started up I started torching the first Earthshaker again. A minute later, we were both shut down again by his friend. And upon powerup, I started torching away again. Etc etc ad nauseum.

It was pretty funny, I had to save the replay on that one.

Well, I tried to get a Juggernaut (selectable in the list) but they'd gone already. I then tried to buy some RD-N, but it failed (took my 200,000 though) and then resupply my Garpike's as bargaining chips for a 3rd gen. but didn't get any of those either

I think it is fixed from the first game, but I'll need to check. I don't see why anybody would want to not use it though

I should add you to my friends list too, which is currently full of HSD; a problem when trying to get a game going -- nobody has any PRF mates

As I understand it this game has a LAN game mode. Has any try it? Because I haven?t herd much about it.

In all honestly If LAN is good I will be more than happy with this game as I still don?t have live and only really bought it for a 2ed pad.

Aye, it's exactly the same as free mission. You can have battle royal, a free for all, or various team games. Note there isn't any kind of co-op (beyond team play) mode to it, it's all versus play.

Cool, Has anyone try it with Xbconnect? (think thats whats its called?)

One thing to bear in mind-- when you play over system link, the only VTs you'll have access to are the ones you've already unlocked for Free Mission mode. So, if anyone in your LAN party hasn't earned or touched any VTs in campaign mode, they'll only have the Vitzh, Decider, Falchion, and Vortex available for use.

Also, if you're playing Campaign mode, keep an eye out for a pilot named Deathwisha. He's been asking people for touches and stealing their VTs, taking 2nd gens in 1st gen matches, and generally being an ass.

                        Sorry. Lost

Don't worry about it man, that's just LoC for ya -- there is a whole community, complete with SB related lingo

Basically, you'll only have a small selection of VTs (the mechs) to use unless you've played it online and unlocked.

Unlocking VTs is simple a case of having owned them at some point, so many nice people will give you a VT, unlocking it for free mission. You then give it back to the original owner. This is what people mean when they want to "touch" a VT 8)

edit: Regarding touching VTs; I don't usually bother unless it is a straight swop, swop back. That way, if they nick your VT then you've at least got something for it

Probably the safest policy, but for the connection-challenged, we have to collateral to offer. We have to rely on the kindness of strangers.

On an unrelated note, I played against a Juggernaut for the first time in a free-for-all. It was the quickest match of my life.

                              Woo!

First round over, PRF won (boo!) but I had my supply points doubled for my ranking in HSD (yay!). Still got my rank and VTs, along with optional parts although I haven't been on today. I waited up for the turn to end last night.

Gonna stick with HSD, it's good to be bad Anbody thinking of joining back in now, things have certainly settled down a bit... some solid gaming to be had 8)
