Some excellent ones in there Concept, thanks for those.

The Ghosts and Ghosts, Shadow of the Beast and Zool ones are excellent.

Gecko Yamori sure knows how to put together a great tune.

This is a beautiful thread filled with some truly remarkable tunes... Many i originally posted, all the way back in 2004 (heh, it is quite funny and often embarrassing reading old posts), i still listen to now and they are almost always at the top of my playlists.

Now i'm really loving a number of ICO, Metroid, Final Fantasy tunes and some soothing remixes from Beyond Good and Evil... Sadly haven't got the means to post them here, but i'll do some searching.

My favourites though are from Collapse of the Collosus. Absolutely amazing stuff… The intro music from the game is enchanting... Wonderful, truly.

I feel a little guilty I’m reviving this thread with no links to tunes… but has anyone come across anything they would like to share? At the very least, it is certainly worth a look at some of the previous posts.

edit: Came across 'Pachelbel's Ganon' again today actually. Forgot how much i liked it... I love all music, well, most anyhoo, but i tend to revert back to my videogame playlists when i'm writing, drawing or just wanting to chill.

Yup, I have at least one good link: Dwelling of Duels. It's a monthly videogame remixing contest that puts an emphasis on actually playing the main instrument in your tune -- that is, MIDI/whatever backing tracks are okay, but the song must not be entirely programmed. Seeing that said main instrument is often a guitar (although there are a few piano and sax players), the result is a number of high-quality rock/metal arrangements.

Last month's theme was the Chrono series (Chrono Trigger / Chrono Cross / Radical Dreamers). I recommend you check at least the top 3 -- Darangen's Running After You blew my mind.

          Some more worth checking out.

Haven't officially been posted on OCRemix and are still work in progress. Excellent stuff though, including some great trance and orchestral remixes of Zelda, FFX and MGS3 (the Saria mix is great, the FFX superbly handled and the MGS3 execellently paced). Not to mention what is to my knowledge the first Shadow of the Colossus remix in development.

          1) Sephfire: Shadow of the Colossus Arrangement - Work in Progress -

          2) Uboichi2: FFX High Summoner Yuna (Zanarkand, orchestral) - Work in Progress -

          3) Strike911: Zelda 64 Winds of Hyrule - Work in Progress -

          4) FM: Ocarina of Time Suite: Part 3 (Saria, Overworld, Owl Theme, Death Mountain) - Work in Progress -

          5) Strike911: Metal Gear Solid 3 Theme (Trance) - Work In Progress

You're probably thinking of French one-man project Tanguy Ukulele Orchestra. Scroll down the page a bit.
