Every time I play a big game i put on weight

Help turning into a right tubby. Just played Mario and Luigi superstar on SP and have noticed that I have put on almost half a stone in weight. Games are gonna kill me. Anybody do this?

man, I notice that sort of thing happen in a single evening if I'm lazy enough to eat my way through an entire tub of pringles.

Or buy an excercise bike, clamp your SP to it and wire up a dyno to power the SP.

What do you mean? That'd probably fly (in America, if not here anyway).

Any excuse to demonise games... :/

I'll be the first to give you the most boring advice then. Just remember that there's a time and place for everything, including a bit of exercise. Take up walking a mile a day if nothing else and quit the junk food. Playing games for prolonged periods often leaves us craving for sugar, so lay off the chocolate and eat sweet fruit instead.

You can laugh at my advice but really it's the only way to help yourself.

I too have recently put on alot of weight, its not the gaming itself but the lifestyle and habbits that seem to go with it.

I play alot of FFXI and since it can be very time consuming and alot of the time you go for the snacks instead of making time to cook something good to eat.

Then of course maybe the fact that weekend dominos pizzas might play a part in it also.

That's quite funny becuase I lose weight whenever I play games compulsively. I can never be bothered to cook, so when I play games non-stop all I do is drink coffee and eat cereal. Semi-skimmed milk and no sugar for 36 hours with the odd bowl of cereal (I go for shreddies). The coffee keeps the mind sharp and the cereal fights the hunger pains...

That's how it goes I suppose...

Can't say the same happens to me.
When I play a really good game I completely lose my appetite and forget to eat. Like the first time I played Deus Ex I ate almost nothing for two weeks.

When I'm playing something I like and do remember to cook food I forget about it and it burns. Last week I burned a load of pasta(damn Riddick)

Actually, I've got to side with Mo on this one, although in a slightly different way. I've played games for god knows how long, but ever since I started as a games journo (proper, like... 5 years now), I've ballooned. All of me's thin besides my stomach, which now looks I've been shoplifting cushions.

But then, that could be me going to Macdonald's every day for the first year and a half I worked here. Heck, I had a loyalty card and the staff knew me. ****.

Still... the fact that the majority of free gaming t-shirts come in large at least does me good.
