Humans and aliens....

To start a thread bluntly: I like killing Humans!!11!!1!

Anyway, to back that up, how many games have you played in which they've always resorted to using aliens as a bigger foe?? I've recently been playing Far Cry as my game of choice and it was all going swimmingly....

WoW!! (I Said) A Whole Island and I have to get to the top...great, I'll be able to exploit human/ai weakness etc....oh no wait here's an unimaginaive monkey/human mutant who can jump at me and take off 3/4 of my health!! To me (halo excluded cause the aliens are like humans) using cheap aliens is like giving up on AI....

Why do game developers always insist on involving aliens?!? I always like going up against humans to test my IQ against thier AI (to put it simply). Perfect Dark is another example of getting it wrong!

Half Life on the other hand got it exactly right: start you off against aliens then pit you against superb marines and black ops; then against aliens!

The point of this thread is to say how much i prefer shootin' humans then aliens!!!!

I want to fight Ninjas and then as harder foe Grand Ninjas? but come later levels its always rows of monsters.

Which is why I'm loving Red Dead Revolver so much...head shots galore! *bang*

RtCW got very disappointing when it started relying on monsters so much.

And humans, especially in Multi-Player. Double-shotgun blast to the head, lurvely...

Aliens are cool and all, Halo, as above is cool, especially when you 1HK Grunts with the pistol and stuff... They run away like scared children... but yeah, I agree human deaths are cool.

If `offing` humans is your thing you'll love `Destroy All Humans` unveiled at E3 and due out sometime next year.

You play the Alien ( which is nice for a change ) and it actually looks like cool too.

Has some nice features like being able to mimic humans you meet and even their voices.

Not only do I like killing humans, but innocent ones at that.

Scientists have to get shot every time I encounter them (after I have peppered the ground around them just to see them running frantic with fear).

Characters I am meant to protect will get a head shot too (X111, Golden Eye and POP spring to mind).

Isn't gamming great!!!

Oh man, the amount of ways to kill a scientist in Half-Life. Stunning. Mines on heads are great... The trip mines right on the forehead, so when they stretch or yawn, BOOM. Still, a magnum shot to the back of the head is hard to beat... Maybe on the training level, when you kill the Barney, then the turrets will try to kill you. Chuck a grenage to knock out the one turret, the creep behind the wall and crouch. Move backwards so that you are behind the scientist and then stand up. The turret will acknowledge that you're behind the scientist and start shooting at you. If you crouch again the Scientist gets is all in the face... GREAT!

Also, in Halo, throwing Plasma Grenades at the heads of Marines. They run about frantically trying to get it off... and when they run into a group of thier own people... it's so much better... They scream so funnilly.

Scientists are indeed very good to kill though. Roll on HL2.

I remember shooting a soldier in the stomach on Goldeneye, and I watched as he died painfully and slowly.

Killing the "good guys" is great fun! Whether your an alien, an evil human, or some weirdy monster - its all better than being the hero. I'm not sure why, but i do know TimeSplitters 2 offering Monkeys (as both playable and foes) was the best feature ever in a shooter. Maybe its some psychological hatred against ones own race, or simpler frustration-release in an acceptable medium (as opposed to punching that dick on the tube, or gunning down your idiot boss), or we are just twisted... must be similar to how some people like Dungeon Keeper and some didnt?

Anyway ever play FPSs at work vs your colleages and boss? ****ing best experience ever hearing them complain you're being "too mean" to them!

Halo doesn't count since the aliens are humanoid, but Perfect Dark is the perfect epitomy of changing the enemies into aliens for the worse... it's just not as satisfying, maybe it's the headshots... or the familiarity, dunno...
