That seems strange because 256MB of RAM is not a lot (Sony did the RAM skimping with the PS2 and that didn't turn out good).

3 * 3.5Ghz CPUs? On one die? How on earth are they thinking of cooling this thing?

These have been doing the rounds for a few days now. Sounds plausibleish.

Magic Box report EVERYTHING. And I mean chat they spotted on some random forum EVERYTHING.

I doubt Microsoft have the design specifics of the controller down to a tee a year and a half before the estimated launch.

Two DC style plunger shoulder buttons would be an interesting sight to see... if they are kept that plunging fashion ofcourse.

The blurb I saw hinted at two analogue triggers that would sit under your index fingers and two shoulder buttons that would sit under your middle fingers.

that would make sense, I can barely do the four shoulders on the ps2 before ligaments start snapping in my hands.

                    Uhh

Two memory card slots? Rubbish. I want four so my friends can come along.

Why not keep them in the pads?

Or just keep the original pads?

256mb RAM? Sorry, but that's just plain crap and speculation.

This is on spong.com today also, where it states on the actual paper that the 256 of ram is undecided along with the HD.

Well if that is the specs, its going to cost a whole lot of money

Those specs must have been pulled out of someone's arse. What's the fastest PowerPC chip you can get at the moment, 2GHz? And they found it difficult to ramp up the speed that far, I think its only a year or so ago that the fastest you could get was 1GHz. To go to 3.5GHz would be an amazing jump, and one that Apple and IBM would be falling over themselves to advertise for their upcoming products. Don't forget the PowerPC is a cornerstone of IBM's enterprise platforms.

And 3 cores on one chip? Companies like Sun, IBM and Intel are currently putting out press releases about how they will be making 2 core chips sometime in the forseeable future, 4 is a dream and 3 is just a silly number, multiprocessor systems tend to have multiples of 2 processors.

                            That's what i was thinking

I ignored the 3 core chip thing though

But even with standard parts, that are readily available, that box would cost a fortune

If that's true, it gives a hint that backwards compatability could still be a feature.
