Halo 2 Anticipation Thread: Hype Vs. Reality

I have a general question about Halo 2 now that I looked at the new single player screenshots:

Are there still organic environments in Halo 2 single player, and if yes, what is roughly the ratio between tech./urban and organic environments?

Game Informer magazine gave Halo 2 a 10/10. well, let's see who is next in the line. i also wonder when the first online reviews will be up.

Excellent news, I was umming and arring about going for the courier option but bottled it in the end. With the wkend to travel across the pond I'm hoping for a Tues, Wedn at the latest arrival, we shall see.

Its hard to believe this is almost here isn?t it?

I?ve never been a die-hard fan of Halo, though still thought it was a really good game. Had some spectacular moments and, on some occasions, just oozed atmosphere. I'm one of those people who also enjoyed the Library level. The tension in these sections... *blinks* woah...

Anyhoo... before now, i've remained fairly under whelmed by all the hype surrounding Halo 2's release...

Now though, as it is literally almost here... i'm bursting with excitement. I really cannot wait to dive deep into this game. I sadly won?t be able to take full advantage of it though, due to not having Xbox Live, but am looking forward to the single player alone

halo 2 is definitely the start of a month of gaming goodness. Next to come, Metroid Prime 2, Half Life 2, Metal Gear Solid 2, Nintendo DS and god knows how many other must have titles for all three platforms.

Out of interest... what are you guys with Xbox Live going to do first? Obviously, i will be playing the Single player the moment it comes through the post and i probably wont move from that position until a good 24hours later...

But what about you people? Will it be the single player... or... share your excitment with fello Halo 2 lovers on Xbox Live? Or... OR! the Mulitplayer with friends all having trouble clutching the controler due to excitment...

so, what is it to be? Solo, or Multi?

I'll probably complete single player on Heroic first and then hit the multiplayer.

Absolutely...

As for how I'm gonna approach it, it's the sp all the way for me. I can't bloody wait to get my teeth into the story and see what happens next. So lots of sp with at least one, maybe two run throughs, then off for some mp madness. This of course could change but that's the plan at the moment...

I'd love to get Live but can't afford it at the mo

Plus I'll be wanting to devote my time to HL2 first before playing through Halo 2's single player experience, and thats before I even consider going on line.

But to be honest I can't see that being much of a problem because I'm guessing you lot will be playing this game on Live for a long time to come

dont care much for live as long as there wont be any co-op modes. i really dont think Halo 2's MP will be that much of an invention, it's just all about customization.

i'm not even interested in the single player at all.
i'll just be straight on live with it...assuming i can stop playing street fighter for a while.
