Has anyone seen/played this at all yet?

It's by the same director as Killer 7 (a game I've been obsessing over for ages now) and wondered if anyone's seen how this plays.

I've seen it running but not too sure about it.

It is an 18 (or equivalent) and I think you are a cameraperson. The clip I saw had a girl in the shower and was lingering a bit. Then she got eaten. I'll see if I can find out more abut it but it looked kind of interesting. I think you area cameraman and you follow a bimbo style presenter. But that is a guess. Will prolly go to a games shop tomorrow and if i see it, I'll give it a squizz.

Personally, i thought it looked tacky at first from the ads (it just has pics of women) and the reviews have been passable rather than great.

      Nicked from another website:

"... and puts you in the shoes of a Zaka TV television cameraman covering a strange incident. One of three buxom female newscasters can be chosen to accompany a crew of three, made up of cameramen and sound engineers. Your job is to capture the event on film -- choose to either help people away from the horror, or else film the shocking scenes. Just make sure to get the story on the air -- "Scoop, truth, drama, eroticism ... get it all on film." The game revolves around your camera, with game over coming about when you've run out of tape without solving the mysteries in a stage. With tongue-in-cheek, catty style and horrific imagery, this game may keep you up all night long."

Just going abit off topic here - i have just read a great interview over at IGN with some new info on K7 and thought you would be interested in it Saur, so here it is!

IGN-Cube - IGN: How far along is Killer 7 now and when will it be released in Japan? How about the United States?

Mr. Suda: The development is pretty far along now and we plan to announce a release date for Japan at the Tokyo Game Show. It will be released in the US sometime this winter.

IGN: How does control work in the game? What exactly do you have control over? Explain the process.

Mr. Suda: You play as Garcian Smith in the beginning level of the game. He is the "medium" capable of waking up the other personalities. By turning on Harman's TV set, it initiates the change in personality, allowing him to switch into the other personas (in addition to Garcian). You can change personalities at certain key locations if you deem necessary. The decision of whom to use and where is ultimately left up to the player.

IGN: How is it that there are seven different versions of Smith?

Mr. Suda: In 1952 at the Union Hotel in Philadelphia, Harman and the seven "Smiths" met and made a pact to work together towards a common goal.

The seven personalities within Harman have started to "wake up" and realize each other's existence. Harman has the power to make these "personalities" real. Not only does his mind change, but he goes through a physical transformation.

IGN: Can you control each different version?

Mr. Suda: Yes. However, you can only change personalities at fixed locations. You can also occasionally control Harman Smith.

IGN: What special and unique abilities do the different Smiths have? Can you give us a few examples?

Mr. Suda: There are three kinds of special abilities for each character: special attacks, the ability to adapt to different environments and to solve riddles. For example, Dan Smith uses powerful energy to fire magic bullets with his mind.

In order to use a special ability, the personality must absorb the blood from a defeated "Heaven's Smiles."

IGN: Does the game feature a deep storyline? What is the storyline?

Mr. Suda: The story is semi-involved, but more importantly are the different directions it branches out into.

The story follows the progression of the main character as he attempts to kill his "target" which was determined by a government. This government is that of a fictitious country that uses its powerful influence to get its way. Opposing this government is a group of people known as "Heaven's Smiles," a "phenomenon" in which normal people transform into walking time bombs that randomly explode. This Heaven Smiles problem has caused the government much distress and has now thrown the country, and eventually the world, into panic.

Page 2 - IGN: There seem to be two different gameplay types in Killer 7: exploration and first-person-style gunplay. How do both work?

Mr. Suda: The first person gunplay portions direct the 'Killer 7' to head toward an objective or location and destroy the various Heaven's Smiles along the way. In certain areas there will be puzzles that can only be solved through a particular personality's special ability. Finally, there is the conversation aspect of the game. By talking to various NPCs, you can gain knowledge of how to defeat the enemy and what to do next.

IGN: What sparked you to come up with the unique graphic style of the game?

Mr. Suda: The initial inspiration came from Hiro Sugiyama's illustrations as well as some comic book images. Works by graphic designer Peter Saville and comic artist Adrian Tomine's have inspired us throughout the R&D process.

IGN: Who is the bad guy in the game and what is his ambition?

Mr. Suda: The creator of the Heaven's Smiles, Kun Lan, is the antagonist. His goal is to bring down the government.

IGN: Will Killer 7 run in progressive scan mode or Dolby Pro Logic II on GameCube?

          Mr. Suda: No.

IGN: How has Mr. Mikami helped you develop Killer 7?

Mr. Suda: Mikami-san was the one who got the project up and running. He was the first person who created a general plan and is currently working as a producer for the product. Basically Mikami-san and I hammered out the details of the game.

IGN: How long would you estimate Killer 7 is?

Mr. Suda: For those who are hard-core gamers and know what they are doing: 24 hours. For those who don't: 30 hours.

IGN: Are there story twists and turns along the way?

Mr. Suda: Basically it's a story that requires a lot of "imagination" to fully grasp what's going on, so I tried not to make it too convoluted.

With the current amount of info we have released so far, I'd imagine there are a lot of people out there scratching their heads and not knowing what to think. But I have designed the game to keep the player guessing and always trying to think through what is actually happening.

IGN: What genre would you classify Killer 7 under?

Mr. Suda: The genre is a "hard-boiled action adventure," which I know is a mouthful. It will be a new type of game for us at Grasshopper and I really hope your readers will go out and buy it when it's released. Thank you.
          --------------------------------------------------------------------------
IGN would like to thank Mr. Suda and Capcom for the interview
