There's so much stuff coming out. DS, Echoes, Hunters, PSP, FFVII ****z, me dad, Capcom Wank Fest.. I doubt working at GS alone is going to fund all this ware. And I still owe greg ?250 for that ho'!!

All we need is SF4, that'd be the cherry.

A couple reviews are up now. Ign and Gamespot in particular. Not that it matters really, but they always make interesting reads imo ^_^

I can?t believe this is out on Monday. In preparation I?ve been re-playing Prime on Hard (again). Apparently the difficulty is harder then Prime, which is great to hear. Though it?s a shame there isn?t an option to start on the ?Hard? difficulty setting from the start? Still, the moment i finished Prime on normal i had to go back on Hard so will undoubtedly do the same here too

I pre-ordered mine from videogameplus a couple of months back so, fingers crossed, I?ll get it before next weekend...

*edit: (Metal Gear Solid 3 is out on the same day! heh. Halo 2, MGS3 and Prime 2, all out within a couple of weeks. wow... )

Next week's wait is going to be painful. Knowing it is out on the Monday, not being able to play until the saturday (or if the worst comes to the worst, the following Monday....) heh.

Having recently gone back to Prime reminded me just how beautiful it is. Not only by how solid the environments, character models and items are? but the sheer attention to detail. I know I keep stressing it? but? there really is nothing else quite like it.

...And apparently Prime 2 has taken it even further ? even more detail crammed into every new area. Indeed I?m looking forward to being intrigued by the game?s story, using the new upgrades, witnessing the new suits? But what is really got me excited is simply being able to control samus and explore the new mesmerizing locations. Just to see what Retro have done this time?

I know the back-tracking puts some people off? but I think its one of Prime?s charms and I cant wait to be given the opportunity to explore echoes.

Whilst playing Prime the other day, I was trying to consider what changes I would have liked to have seen in Echoes ? things I considered to be negative in Prime. And to be honest? I couldn?t think of a single thing (heh, the only other games I can say that about it Ocarina Of Time and Super Mario World)

(the only thing i would have liked to have seen... not really a negative though... was a Multi-lock missle upgrade to target more then one foe. But this is a feature already in echoes! ^_^)

Out of interest buddy, if Retro asked you what would you have liked seen changed in Echoes, which you thought was at fault in Prime, what would it have been?

Good question - I've not played through MP for a while, so maybe any little niggles I had have faded into a distant memory, as I can't say I'd change anything. I just found the whole experience to be thoroughly engrossing, entertaining & most of all, fun. I think what wowed me most was how organic the locales felt; each seemed to have secrets, stories & history bouncing from their desolate walls (I remember at one point feeling a sense of unease & thinking 'it's a bit like wandering through haunted remains' - then the Chozo ghosts popped up...), & finding the bits of Chozo text was a great way to become further wrapped up in the story - when the Chozo lore made reference to 'The Hunter', I felt like The Hunter

I can understand why people were turned off by the backtracking, but the new abilities & weapons made it worthwhile - it was great how battles that had previously been a struggle suddenly became a walk in the park once you'd become a badass plasma-toting mo'fo

              Roll on next week

Geoff D, your description of Metroid Prime is spot on.

It's probably my favourite game on the cube and I've been waiting nervously for the sequel ever since they announced it.

I've managed to avoid all previews, reviews, news, demo discs and information about the game so I've no idea what to expect; and in truth I'd be happy if it's exactly the same as the original but with new locations and enemies.

Can someone just post if it's scored highly or not? if it's scored badly I want to prepare myself for a dissapointment now before it arrives.

"Echoes stands shoulder to shoulder with its predecessor, delivering absolutely everything you'd want from a new 3D Metroid adventure.", quote from Gamespot, which gave it 9.1 out of 10. Most of those who've played the game, says it's basically the same as the first (Metroid Prime), only with new locations and enemies (as well as new beams).

Take a look at www.gamerankings.com if you want to know the scores. So far, the main score is 92.4% at GameRankings (Overall Score is 92.7%).

I'm looking very forward to Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Ordered it from DVDBoxOffice, and I expect it to be shipped tomorrow (I hope so, at least). Damn, there's so many games this week ... Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Half-Life 2 ... And then, next week I'll get the DS and Super Mario 64 DS.

I get mine this weekend!!! OMG!!!
One thing I'd like to see in echoes is some bloody proper enemy AI. It's pathetic in prime.

Oooooh... i really hope it arrives this weekend. It should be shipped from videogameplus today. Hopefully... hopefully it'll turn up by the weekend. If it doesnt... saturday and sunday are going to go ever so slowly.

                        Here's another review. From Gamerz-Edge

Metroid Prime is within my top 3 fav games... (3rd only to Ocarina of Time and Super Mario World) and if Echoes is supposed to be a proud sequel to Prime, i know i'm going to be one happy little bunny indeed ^_^

Thing is Adam, this month is a first class utter primed beehatch. This is because iv not only got Halo 2, Outrun 2 (havent even played yet) Football Manager which is curiously addictive, NFSU2 coming shortly and (cant feckin wait) Mario Power Tennis, VJ 2 **AND**TEH BLUDEH NINTENDO DS and games.

I cant see how my wallet is taking it or the hours in the day are going to allow me to devote as much time as I would have liked on each and every title. Life is cruel.

MP2 is out today. I'm holding off right now though, Toy's R Us have Viewtiful Joe 2 for release on Thursday! Walmart for Friday and other chains next week. So, I need to have cash for VJ2, cos they don't seem to have a clue when the damn things out.

Thing is though, I adore MP, but the demo didn't do a thing for me...was hoping I could give you some First Play impressions today, but Joe beckons...
