    err...

    nope.

Treasure are not a second party for NCL. That looks to me like a PAL site clutching for straws

Well the new Gradius is being developed by them and that is coming out on the PS2, so I doubt it.

        Isn't Gradius a Konami franchise?

Well, it's true that they're doing Wario - But that's old news. They're not a permanent on-board developer for Nintendo, though. Treasure have always taken jobs for other, bigger companies.

Good to see that GC-EU are keeping up to date.

Yes. Ex-Konami members now work at Treasure. These guys previously worked on the Gradius franchise, so in hiring Treasure to develop the update, they are either going back to roots, or looking for a new lease of ingenuity for the series.

Well Nintendo did say a while back that the developer of Wario World was their new second party developer, but either the deal didnt go through or the development of the game must have changed hands from what you guys are saying.

I think a lot of this extra work Treasure does (i.e., Slipheed for PS2, Sin & Punishment for N64, Gradius 5 and the new Wario) is just "to pay the bills" so to speak, it is not the main thing they focus on, I think they get more satisfaction from their own creations like Ikaruga, but this are few and far between so they need to do the odd outside jod to keep the revenues flowing

                This is my opinion anyway

NDcube are a Nintendo second party and they made Tube Slider for NEC, Brownie Brown are a first party and they're making Sword of Mana for Squaresoft.

So it's possible Nintendo would let them make Gradius for Konami, although personally I don't believe this rumour.

I think he means because Sin and Punishment was co-developed with Nintendo.

Complete rubbish that rumour. Nintendo seem to be distancing themselves from the 2nd party approach and trying to encourage more 3rd parties to the format.

Treasure have worked hard to get where they are today, so I doubt they would sell up to the big N.

I agree, but if the 2 companies really became close we could see them developing exclusively for Nintendo console without actually being owned by them, much like Camelot and Factor 5.

What happened to their Tiny Toons game on PS2/GameCube by the way? Was it cancelled?

                            Ah, oops, sorry my misunderstanding.

I'd prefer that Treasure maintain their independence to write on any console they fancy.
