Halo 2 vs GTA: San Andreas (xmas sales)

This is a difficult one, on one side Halo 2 is probably going to be bought by most Xbox owners, and won't be as pirated as GTA because I imagine virtually everybody with Live will get the game. However, GTA is the biggest selling game series of recent times. And the PS2 userbase is so huge, I can't see Halo2 outselling it at christmas.

However, the whole GTA thing seems to be getting a bit stale with so many imitators nowadays. Will sales of San Andreas match Vice Cities? Certainly the game does not seem to have as much of an appealing atmosphere, but just becasue of the sheer imprint of the GTA brand in the publics heads that may not matter.

So who do you think is going to win sales-wise this year, GTA or Halo?

GTA will probably be the biggest console title, but I wouldn't put money against The Sims 2 beating it.

Of course, last years Christmas number one was 'Need for Speed: Underground', so what do we know eh?

Halo has been bought by almost a third of all US XBox owners.

Pretty darn impressive. However, Vice City has sold almost as many copies in the US are there are XBoxes. I'm not expecting this race to even be close.

No, I don't think it'll be close either. When the stores get their PS2 + GTA 4 packs on the shelves they'll be bought up by the bucket load.

Halo 2 will be the better game by far but come on people its GTA. Just think of all the 5 year olds that are waiting for there new crime sim. And the fact that there are over 6 million PS2's in the UK might help GTA a little.

Don't place your bets on the Sims 2 selling the most, many oringinal sims players barely have the specs to run it, so they aren't likely to have the specs to run the Full 3d one
