I wouldn't buy a candy cab off anyone other than killercabs now. The level of service has been outstanding.

To add to this, I'm sure he won't mind me mentioning this, Tony makes no money off these sales. He literally sells for what he buys them for. Its his hobby and he wants to make the impossible possible.

If you are looking for something more than one of the HK entry level cabs then I suggest having a look around on google- finding one you like and asking him to track it down. I bought an Sega astro (see last page) and its stunning. He'll try and source any cab you're after and actually positivly encourages it as a kind of challenge for him.

Oooh drilltastic, your so lucky. I'd love to have somthing like that but it's not a question of cash its the fact that the doorways i have are so narrow id never get it in (sniff).

There goes my dream of getting this off ebay

I'll get myself a new astro city someday, they're lovely.
More than happy with this for now though. Mint condition, nothing technical to do, cheap and a very handy button lay out.

Astro city cabs come completely apart. You can get them in any door you can walk through...must try harder

goziamas cab has three buttons and super monkey ball's cab has 6 buttons, Is the amount of buttons specific to model of cabinet or can you ask for each cab with the amount of buttons you prefer?

I have a different experience than some of the other people here,
I received my cabinet ( just like monkeyballs one). and tony was a fantastic chap , really really nice guy.

I got the cabinet in my front door , and tested the cab and definate thumbs up. Then when i was just checking everything i knocked my Jamma board lightly and the picture went bad,
                  Very shakey
Spoke to tony of killer cabs , and we went through lots of things
After hours of fretting it turned out that if i had the board touching the bottom of the cabinet just right the picture suddenly cleared up ,
so it was a grounding issue.

Then came trying to get the cabinet upstairs, the weight is fine there heavy but not so with 2 people but you have to remove the controller panel to get through normal doors,
Doing that took about 6-8 hours, thats no joke.
You see the screws are in such an awkard place you cant fit a screwdriver in there without removing the monitor
I used special tiny screw driver thingie from halford thats is like this shape -_

But some of the screws thread had been damaged in the factory and in the end had to be drilled out (through a steel cabinet)
I can tell you that was not an easy job

Then i have been away for a week on holiday and have spent an hour yesterday and about 2 today trying to trouble shoot my grounding problem
Following all the wires and checking all the connections and following all the ideas tony sent me via wonderful emails
Sadly now my second controller has also stopped recognising left now too
And all obvious wires are connected

To say the least rather than being ever so joyous it has become ever so stressful
I am not a complete newbie with wires and such , i modify my own consoles and am quite comfortable but the problem so far has been completely elusive

                  I hope it works out

                    Well said ..

I think this raises an important issue.

The cabinets are fantastic when they're running smoothly and it's all smiles. But they can be quirky - monitors in particular are a law unto themselves. It's important to have some kind of support system in place - a 'plan B' for when things do not go smoothly.

Also bear in mind, that a TV repair technician is not cheap - and when major problems occur, then costs can mount up considerably.

Drilling through the control panel is a complete nightmare - I also had this pleasure. I also used a small screwdriver and this quickly turned the centre to a perfect circle.

Stressful - it certainly can be, and for many problems there really is no magic cure, just a systematic process to endure before finally nailing the problem.

Thanks for sharing this experience, and this might serve as a useful indicator to anyone that considers buying any cabinet, that it's not all a walk in the park!

                          here's my latest pics.

My monitor is absolutely humming now I've had a serious tweak with the myriad pots in there. When you look at the quality of a nanao screen you realise why they cost ?600 new. Simply the best quality arcade screen I've ever seen.

Check OUT that picture of Ryu...
