How many PAL games do you buy a year ?

Know this is a import gaming site, but I'm curious; I buy import PS2 & Cube ones (unless I spot a PAL bargain) but always buy PAL for Live on my XBrick.

So me about 8 PAL games a year, what about you ?

Yeah, but with the advent of Live I think most people buy more UK games now.

I used to buy import everything, people on here know that from old, but now, especially with developers cranking out the decent conversions, (60hz et al), it's almost not worth importing unless you can't wait for the PAL release or if, in most cases, it's not being released outside Japan.

Silent Hill 3, and a few Xbox Live games are the only ones I've bought. SH3 because it came out first in PAL land, and the Xbox Live games for obvious reasons.

Well, I can't actually import any. Unfortunately.

Though, I am quite seriously looking into a PS2 Flip lid / Swap magic setup, if anyone can confirm that it's worth the money?

          Must... play... Initial D....

Anyway, back on topic, I buy too many. I get paid every month and I buy at least 2 games with my paycheck.

My console gaming's almost entirely XBox-related these days so I'm mostly a PAL gamer. I do have a US/Jap Gamecube but haven't felt inclined to buy a game for it in well over a year now.

well, a lot of those were budget and second hand. the sega ages releases make up a fair chunk of that too

I think I've only bought something like 10 proper releases this year, with all the cheap crap taking up the slack.

I have had flip lid etc for 2 years, not missed a beat, cost me about ?40 for the case and the 2 boot discs, plays every import game I tried *see post below for link to list of games that don't work. Will not play the majority of copied discs by the way. Where was you thinking of buying it from ?

                        Number of PAL games bought = (sin (90*pi) * tan (-180*pi) + cos (pi) + 1) / 2 + sin (90*pi)

Most of my games are PAL, I only get a smattering of import games for my Freeloader-iffic GC and my flip-top PS2.

Talking about that, apparently it won't play all the import games going. http://www.swapmagicfix.com/ has a list of those that it won't work on, or needing you to do some other stuff before they will work. If you can, I'd try to get a properly chipped PS2. The flip top also won't play import PS1 games.

There is something called Breaker Pro, which is a disc that apparently updates the TOC (table of content) and lets you play DVD9 titles. Whether this actually works or not I have no idea.

Having said all that, Disgaea US works without a problem.

i only buy PAL games, as i wasnt interested in the inmport scene when buying my consoles. although next next gen consoles will be mostly imported.

Last one I bought was PGR2, and I no longer have an Xbox, so I guess I can safely say "none".
