    Demonstone free PS2 demo

Not the heights of gaming excitment, but Atari are giving away free demo discs for this here. Usually I would avoid this type of game, but as its free...

So has anyone any info about this?

Demonstone has been likened to EA's Lord of the Rings brawlers. In Demonstone you have a party of three punters which you can switch between. This month's EDGE gives it a six.

Thanks!, It will be amusing to see how this matches up to Dynasty Warriors. I'll report back when it arrives.

Well this arrived the other day, and my initial fears were realised

The demo opens with Patrick Stewart reading a typical D&D-style intro, this is bad as, as much as I enjoy a chance to hear one of my favourite actors in a game, the script is quite cringe-worthy and makes me think poor Professor X is short of a bit of cash.

The game looks ok, but the combat engine is quite unmanageable and has poor collision detection, which for a melee-fighter is quite poor. The switch between a British Voiced intro to the stock American voices of the three characters is terrible oversight and makes the three characters seem even more generic.

The only good trick is the fact that you can switch between you and your two allies on the fly, meaning that when you tire of one style, another is accessible. The AI then takes over the others (and is actually quite helpful too) who remain on the battlefield

Overall - I would advise avoiding this one.

Should I bother trying it out as I got it a few days ago.

Got the demo disk the other day, but it was incredibly short and limited. Poor mans LotR:RotK tbh (yes I know its the same developer).

Don't cry: it's wazz. And the demo's really (mercifully) short.

as bad as the demo is, the music was very nice.
