Multi Format Mag's

With CVG dieing its death this month (please dont hit me to hard, i followed it for 5 years!!!!!) im now in the market for a new multi format magazine to buy each month.........

Whats your recomendations?

Games tm or EDGE.

EDGE for the pseudo-intellectuals and Games tm for fun

I subscribe to both Games TM and Edge (and Retro Gamer yeah!!) - every other games mag is pretty wank!

pay by direct debit for games tm and it's 2 quid an issue! Best bargain ever IMO

Yep, they come out on the second Thursday(ish) of the month I think. Current issue has San Andreas on the cover, IIRC.

GamesTM is good, its just a shame that the Retro section is the only part that really grips me.

Edge has lots of interesting articles that broaden your knowledge, its more for people that appreciate using their brains.

Edge is the only good multi-format mag, it's good but not perfect, sometimes there is the odd dull article but things have drastically improved since Tony Mott became the Editor again. Reviews are often great and generally do reflect the quality of the game in question. (I feel that Games are less subjective than Music for instance, Games can often have bad/broken design, were as, the merits in music are entirely down to the opinions of the listener).
Games TM is aweful, sometimes their reviews defy belief ( Burnout 3 10/10 are you on Crack!!) and the writting is almost as bad as mine

Does anyone know which is the final issue of CVG? Is it the one with NFSU2 on the cover or is there one after that?

I find both Edge & GamesTM to be merely 'alright' - reasonably diverting, but I wouldn't go out of my way to pick up either regularly.

The last multiformat mag I loved was EGM before it became utter ****.

Arcade was my favourite back in the late 90s, I havn't really bothered with a multi format mag since as none of them are to my taste, if one was written like ODM, but covering all formats, I'd definately pick it up!

I also thought that Arcade magazine was great. pity it had to finish.
