I'm an IGN Insider subscriber. I like getting high resolution Quicktime movies from their site, but their reviews are utter **** I'm afraid to say.

Their DVD reviews are particularly hilarious.

That said, the video doesn't stink. It merely shows its age, and probably the way it was made. Some of the look is by design; there is some deliberate "dust" on the screen. The real flaw is aliasing and pixilization, which plagues more than a few episodes. There is no color bleed, which is a very good thing.

Alice in Wonderland Review:
This is, as you can imagine, an extremely colorful movie, and when we get to the Queen of Hearts segments, the video is overwhelmingly red. Reds can have the most trouble on video and are most prone to dot crawl, but here, everything is steady and solid.

It's a FILM TO DIGITAL transfer. There is no way the DVD could have pictures with dot crawl stored on it unless it had been stored on Analog Composite video at some stage. It sounds to me like these idiots are reviewing DVDs and judging the video quality by using Composite video cables to hook the players up... unbelievable for a DVD review site.

There are plenty of other screwups on that site... but I really can't remember them all.

I emailed Perry once about his Silent Hill 2 PS2 review. It was when he was PS2 editor and a total evangelist for the format. He used the review and SH2 to 'prove' that PS2 could do great textures.

I explained to him that it was the talented artists at Konami, not the PS2 that did great textures. And the small, enclosed environments with little going on that enabled the PS2's crappy memory to hold them.

He replied, much to my surprise, and said he was the PS2 editor and so had a duty to hype the format.

I work in an industry as I would think 90% of others do where we have to pass on information to customers, sometimes that info is given to me from a supplier months before a product is released and then the specification changes.

I think you have to be a little more responsible for your actions mate and watch what you say about people in public, you just come over as some little kid with a chip on your shoulder, who is probably 18 years old at most with nothing better to do with his time than write a load of swear words in a letter to someone while sniggering to himself.

Well all that hate mail on that guys site made me lol I would just like to add don't they normally add things when release schedules are spaced for example PAL vers of Anubis extra missions etc. Maybe they will add Daytoona if not though surley this guy should be corrected.
