    Pre-1985 recommendations?

As my retro consoles have been somewhat overshadowed by next-gen goodies of late, a friend and I have decided to dedicate a week to retro games. More specifically, it's going to be 1984 week. No MAME, no other emulators, only games released in or before 1984 (my jammy mate gets to play his tabletop DOnkey Kong though). This means plenty of C64, Spectrum , Colecovision, Atari 2600, XE and so on. So, what should I be playing? Any recommendations?

I Second 3D Monster Maze what a fantastic little game. It took me about an hour to work out what was going on. Initial reaction "What are all these blocks, this is rubbish". 1 hour later "Oh I can see it now it's in 3D awesome".

Loads of 2 player games available on the 2600

            Air-sea battle
            Combat
            Basketball
            Space Invaders

Can't remember whether these were pre or post 1984 but you could probably kill a day doing some Epyx classics on the C64
