    Timesplitters 2, Hard Mode

    Just call me 'Mr. Topicality'.

Anyway, I got back into this single-player after a multiplayer sesh recently, and to my astonishemnt made the breakthrough on Siberia Hard yesterday. I'm now up to Wild West. How many other peeps have got through Hard, and how long did it take you? As someone who got all the cheats on Goldeneye and Perfect Dark I'd have to say this surpasses both in challenge, although not always for the right reasons.

You're right when you say not for the right reasons. The game feels really twitchy... It's really hard to shoot stuff, esp on GC :S But it's really fun.

I'm a co-op fiend and it's a real blast and we got to around the Aztec level on Hard and it was a chore. Really hard, but fun none-the-less.

If the next game sorts out some of the small niggles I had with TS2, then it'll certainly rank up there.

MP is great fun at times though I haven't played TS2 in what seems like years now. Tbh, after I got Halo, all other co-op games have fallen. There is only one!

Yeah I got through it on hard. Like you, I took forever to do Siberia on hard (those frigging Zombies!) and then made steady progress. The last level is a bastard though.
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

its piss on hard up until the robot factory thats just a **** level really its too long and repetitive.
I've decided timesplitters is highly flawed, its mostly the little things that bother me:
        +homing missles are too fast/powerful/available
+high end bots can shoot you when they're facing the other way, this is a bug but its a bad one.
+How come picking up 2 guns doesn't mean I get double guns its stupid having a separate pickup for double guns and could be easily amended by an "allow double guns" option in the multiplayer setup.
+Multiplayer is much better without health pickups I preferred the goldeneye and perfect dark way of forcing you to be much more careful you cant just run in make a mess then run crying to a health pickup. The bullet proof vests were enough of a safety net you would ever need.
+That rapid fire pulse rifle is the most annoying bag of **** going
+Lose the grenades off the AK47 thing they overpower it
+more 2nd fires, theres only a handful and they're all pretty **** really.

Really looking forward to getting TS3 on the cube I have high hopes they've straightened it out a lot.

Amen to the Plasma Autorifle being ****e - the only Arcade task I've not completed in some form is the third Team Series C, as you're up against Sentrybots that use the thing in a way a human player is utterly incapable of doing.

Robot factory detained me for ages even on Normal - not looking forward to it on Hard. Could the design be any more generic?

Think I got bored about that point too, just can't tell if your even ****ing hitting anything cos the blast takes up so much of the screen and I get the impression it takes about 3 seconds to die from it and it seems to tae a good 15 literally point blank to kill anything with it.Don't even bother anymore just use it for its rather dodgy grenades which have a tiny tiny explosion but about a mile long radius.

Robot factory, if it was easy would just be ****ing dull. Just the same crap over and over and over it should be 1/4th of what it is really if thats what its gonna do.

But in the end TS2 is a nice start, nowhere near a goldeneye or perfect dark yet but I've got a good few hours enjoyment out of it.

i played it thru on normal with not really that much difficulty

its a pretty good game but i couldnt be bothered playing thru it again

i still pride myself on finishing goldeneye on 007 mode and that includes the extra levels (aztec and i cant remember the other)

I could never finish Goldeneye, and it's one of my gaming regrets, amongst others.

I heard there was a mision editor after that, which i wouldn't have minded toying about with. That game is so balanced.

beating Jaws was an absolute nightmare - you had to sneak up on him with a laser head shot just to stand a chance

Jaws was a pussy, man - you just had to keep pummelling him with the lasers and he couldn't return fire. Let up for a millisecond and his boner was metaphorically up your jacksi, of course...

The really tough part of GE was Facility, 00 Agent, 2:05. It took me almost two years of regular play to nail it. After that, even though the cheats on PD were objectively harder to get, they caused me nowhere near the pain.

theres a trick to beating jaws easily, lure him to that room with the hole in the middle and run round the opposite side, the ai cant tell you can still be shot so he cant fight back haha how cheap. Didn't figure that out till later when messing about invincible, I was the only person I knew who could get the invincibility cheat, took quite a bit of practice but I can do it every time its possible now (doak has to be in the right place).

Yeah, Jaws was easy take him to the room with the double flight of stairs run the opposite way, he'll eventually stop at the bottom or the top then just zoom in and shoot him in the head with your AR33.

I found Perfect Dark much harder and only need one cheat and that's the one to Play as Elvis, those pesky guards (It's not Scooby Doo!) with the Dragon's do my head in. I gave in years ago.
