I like those Tuff enuff & Crackdown ones.

I think age is melting my mind.

Ugh the Crackdown boxart is horrible....

      Or is it?

The game is going for a comic book approach, clearly ripping off GTA (and allowed too seeing as the lead designer created GTA!) and obviously tounge in cheek. Win, I believe. It'll sell like ****e and be ported to PS3, mind.

        Yeah whatever mate...
I actually bought that a while back, partially because of the boxart and partially because I remember it getting slated pretty badly in a review in about '93. Jaleco really is the king of bad artwork (see also: Rival Turf).

Haven't played the game much, but suffice to say it's a pretty poor. The characters aren't exactly the height of originality either.. you've got your fireball-throwing Japanese martial arts chap, the fast-but-weak girl, the american ex-military with a blonde crewcut, a big-but slow wrestler (though in this game he's dutch) etc...

The Crackdown boxart does seem to have a lot of homoerotic facial hair

Did anyone else grow up playing the Apogee shareware games?

For the front of the manuals you got when you bought the game, you got a horrific picture on every game. These were 320x200 16-colour (EGA) games so a hell of a lot got left up to the artist's imagination.

                Here's Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure:

You know how I said a lot got left up to the artist's imagination?

Well, apparently sometimes the artists had a rather homosexual imagination, not that there's anything wrong with that of course:

one of the worst in terms of effort and marketing. Probably the 1st time Capcom used this style and will probably be the last.

Edit: and no, not because I think she?s attractive... dont assume... I like it becuase I think its nice that a UK television presented can be the star of box art on modern platforms.
