    Unplugged

The eyesore of a thousand consoles under the tv finally got to me this morning, I snapped and unplugged most of them and stored them away.

Underneath, behind, and adjacent to my TV set were 11 consoles, the set up was starting to look cluttered and was depressing me. Now I just have the current three consoles and a DVD player. Everything else has been moved onto a trolley and the wires put into a box. If I want to play on another system I have to set it up, play on it then pack it away again.

Persoanlly I feel much more at peace with my consoles now. That's the best way I can explain why I did it, I feel in control of my own space again. Has anyone here ever done the same thing? From experience do you think it will encourage me to play my older games even more or will I now play them less?

You could be right. A lot of my consoles were plugged in but were behind the TV, they were getting ignored. Now they're unplugged but in clear view. They're crying out to be played.

My GameCube is still being ignored though but that's mostly Nintendo's fault not mine.

Problem is once you start packing them away it soon becomes a chore to get them out again.
And if your'e anything like me you won't be able to find the appropriate leads, psu's etc because the way they've been chucked in the loft.

That's why i bought a massive glass A/V unit for my telly, amp, dvd player, sky box and all the current gen consoles. Was expensive but well worth it.
I've been slowly taking over the dinning room with my retro stuff, started as a small nook in the corner now its spread over half of it.
Amazingly the missus still hasn't said anything.

There's no chance of that happening. All the consoles are on a trolley (a bit like a tea trolley I used to have the printer and scanner on) and the PSUs and AV leads are in a cake tin underneath, all neatly bound with elastic bands.

          I'm a very organized boy.

Not to come off as a sad as fook fanboy but you need to be giving your cube some loving mang. Dust that bad boy off and get with the VJ2, MP2, RE4 and Killer 7!!! OK I know the PS2 has been getting involved but they are made for the Cube Pad!!!

            Right. Enough. laters.

I would be playing those games if they'd actually been released yet.

Get a unit where you can hide the bastards.
                  Like this.
When theyre not in use just close the door. It would piss me off plugging and unplugging them for a quick blast. I hate mess aswell around the TV set.

What I really need to do is store them in the garage and get loads of Wavebird type controllers, then all I'll ever need is a pad, a telly and a big ****-off couch.
