One Line Puzzle - Chokkan Hitofude (Nintendo DS)

Can anybody give me any sort of feedback on this game. I think it looks right up my street, i have been told that you get clues on the top screen about what to do on the bottom screen , however are these clues in japanese or are they picture clues?

Do i need to know Japanese in order to enjoy this game?

I guess i am wondering the same about Pokemon Dash and Jam With The Band.

Not one of the US release games interests me and i need something to play on my shiney new DS.

TBH I doubt anybody on here will know for a while, maybe getting translations of Japanese sites might be best.

Purely on the basis of the vids I've seen (Famitsu also rated them highly if that's of any significance) I've ordered both games, hopefully Play Asia will ship early and I can post impressions soon.

Hitofude looks da bomb - Everything from the boxart to the game itself is screaming "style" to me. Fun style too.

I didn't realise the top screen showed anything other than the next lot of blocks waiting to fall onto the screen. You trace lines around blocks that turns them white or black and if you batch up correct colours those blocks fall from the screen. Or something.
