Nah thats bollocks that, the gamecube is a wonderfully designed machine, yet to touch a DS but I think the metallic sp looks cheap so i'll probably agree on the ds. But the gamecube is wonderfully well designed and put together machine right down to the click of the lid and its disk eject button.

shock horror Valken that would be the case.

yeah gotta agree that it does feel cheap and nasty, still preferred the original design of the ds

as for the sp - smashing machine

Marcus - dont worry about losing the stylus - it fits 'snugly' into a hole at the back of the machine, so if you are a little bit careful, they should never go missing

That's the thing with the Cube. As much as bright purple plastic and a carrying handle doesn't do much to scream "grown up sensible piece of AV equipment", unlike its competition (the new PS2 looks flimsy as hell, and the XBox specifically warns against placing it where it could fall on a child), you feel that it might actually survive 10 minutes inside an ELC shop. Not that I'm risking letting my kid near it yet.

I never said the GameCube is a poorly designed machine, I stated it looks like it should be in the Early Learning Centre mainly because it looks like a kids toy. My first gamecube broke because me 2-year old daughter (at the time) would constantly chuck it in her toy box. The second one broke because she used to stuff farm animals into the top of it and she royally ****ed up the laser.

This never happened with any of my other consoles, mainly because they don't look like they're made by Fisher Price.

Oh and if you're wondering why she was even touching my GameCube, you can blame it on the wife (I was at work).

The fact is, the DS was made on the cheap and it shows in the finished product. I've been unlucky with my machine but I still love it (I just think it looks horrible). It might be an idea to read the thread before you start making assumptions, it makes you look like less of an idiot...
Sorry but I simply don't agree with your statement, sorry your 'fact', that the DS feels cheap and was made on the cheap. It feels fine to me, just as sturdy as Nintendos other systems.

I've had mine in bits already :P - the internal design is just as superb as Nintendo's other recent machines. The Gamecube is in a class of it's own in terms of design I feel - no other console fits together so neatly, has so little wasted space and has been identical from launch day to present, Sony come out with new PS2 revisions monthly it seems sometimes.

I wouldn't say it has a cheap feel about it but has anyone else experienced the 'sharp' lower left/right corners digging into your hands after a while?

I don't get a feeling of cheapness with the DS. It's got a weight to it that's reasurring I'd guess. I had misgivings about the shoulder button's; thought they were plasticky, but extended play shows how durable the little thing is. I think it's polished and well presented, also shows a nice continuation from SP>DS in terms of design.

Not had a single problem with it either.

Oh dear, so I didn't use the English language properly when speaking on a forum, my god strike me down and take all my DS games.
