Which is why when I ran my draw, Marcus allowed it, but wouldn't let me include the two I'm due from LikSang UNTIL I actually had them in my hands. Makes sense at least, though you can all trust me.... right? RIGHT?!

a lot of things don't make sense that Weinberg has said in those 2 threads ... like how he has spoken to EB in the US about his 'suppliers' sales (would a store discuss a customers sales with a 3rd party ... doesn't the US have a data protection act?), how the store has agreed with Weinberg (not his 'supplier' but Weinberg himself, a 3rd party with no standing in the sales of said items) not to sell the DS's to the 'supplier' but to refund the 'supplier' instead .....

Weinberg claims to have contacted a solicitor about the matter .... i think that hes gonna need one

ps I know that some people have tried posting similar sales threads to the Weinberg one in our sales forum, and they have always been locked/deleted asap .... now you know why. it might appear to be cheaper to use these fly-by-night cowboys (for want of a better term) but its safer, more reliable and gives a peace of mind to the buyer to use the recommended affiliates associated with the site

What a bunch of sodding kids you rllmuk users are. Words fail me.

I'll be voting Labour next term if Blunket brings in some sort of minimum age requirement for forum use.

****'s he expect Weinberg to do - suddenly be scared into handing over $20k? I can't believe there's any sort of posts on that forum at all, aside from factual information from the relevant people.

Funny thing is, the more people who lodge a complaint with Paypal, the more likely Weinburg will get his account frozen for 180 days just like that - and the more likely they'll never see their money!

                        Wrong.
He can issue refunds from a frozen account, just not take any more money.
What he's going to do is pay us back through the bank balance section of Paypal. Also, Paypal only allow users to claim a maximum of 30 days after the event. The machine is two weeks late. So that's 14 days left. People had to pay 7 days prior minimum. That leaves 7 days to claim.

So basically, don't claim now and be in the same boat as me and have Paypal tell you to **** off, they won't help because 30 days are up. After numerous emails they've at least agreed to investigate my claim (something to do with the multiple claims made against him yesterday).

It's a sorry state, though Tuesday/Wednesday is the date for refund. Whether that happens is another matter.

If people start doing chargebacks through paypal, it is going to cost him an awful lot of money in Paypal fee's. It used to be about 15 quid per chargeback - the rules may have changed now.

btw you have allowed this sort of thing before ntsc, because I did it with some dreamcast arcade sticks, and very grateful I was too. Then again my supplier was picking it from their own stock, and not relying on emptying EB come release day (as per weinbergs supplier)

Can you explain this charge back business or provide a link. If I don't get a refund this might be an interesting option...

Either it wasnt noticed, or we allowed you special dispensation to sell them (more likely) as typically we dont allow that sort of sale here. Its also a reason why we disallow bulk sales where someone orders multiple units from a retailer on behalf of a number of people who have paid in advance, the intent is good, but so much can go wrong with that type of transaction that paying the few quid more to get it from a retailer direct is a far better option. People are sometimes critical of our strict selling policy but the rules are there for a good reason, and its our responsibility to protect our members from bad/fraudulent sales as much as we possibly can.

Well if you payed Weinberg with Paypal, and the money was drawn from a credit card. Then inform your credit card company of the problem.

They will follow their procedure's which usually ends up with them withdrawing the money back from Paypal, who in turn take it back from weinberg, and at the same time slap an admin charge on him.

If you've got a debit card registered with paypal or payed using an existing balance, you'll have to follow the paypal procedures.

That's how it used to work, but it's been a while. Basically, use the protection of your credit card company to chargeback paypal.

[marcus] I agree with you totally, the logistics involved make it not worth the risk to your users, except in special cases...maybe
