That's their attitude - what about playing it and finding out for yourself what you think about it? Dont let magazines dictate your tastes, if I did that I would have missed out on all my favourite games of this gen.

Well seeing as you already have a DS coming to you surely the best thing to do is wait until it arrives, play the games and see for yourself how much you enjoy it?

I find most magazine and internet reviews lately to be completely irrelevent, As the two guys above say you need to make up your own decisions and not be led by the crowd.

There are too many games that go ignored in favour of things that I'd class as non gaming criteria.

There'll be people that say all PS2 games are bad, or all GC games are bad, or all PSP games are bad - will you never play games again because of this?

Go, explore, be happy with your purchase, love the hobby that you do.

              It's just someones opinion.

I happen to love my DS and I've probably had the most fun out of it more than anything else video games related this year.

Super Mario 64 DS is aces, and worth it for the mini games alone.

Feel The Magic XY/XX is fantastic, if a little short.

Wario Ware Touch is every bit as good as the previous two in my mind.

no lol im not saying that i wont play games, just that if i wasnt positive that the DS is going to be a fantastic gaming experience then that kinda review may have put me off. surley that kind of write up for the ds was kinda harsh?

but then it brings me bk to the topic i raised last week about "are launch games worth it?"

That feature you're referring to is from when the machine was shown off at Seattle. They're not actual reviews.

Just check out the first play thread hear to see what we think of the new machine and it's games. Feel the Magic, Wario Ware Touched, Mr Driller, Metroid Prime Hunters and Super Mario 64 DS are all titles that we're really impressed with and all have recevied (or will be receiving decent scores.)

We love the DS, however, titles like Urbz, spider man 2 (although I quite like it) and Tiger Woods were far from complete when they were playtested, and the feature is based on initial first impressions (Mario for example wasn't working at all with the thumbstruck).

The next issue will have the US lauunch line up reviewed (the Jap Launch was too late) and then you'll be seeing DS games reviewed on a regular basis. don't worry the DS rocks (even if it does look cheap )

Fantastic, you have restored my faith! Is tiger woods out yet? Anyone played it? I was hoping this would be good!

Tiger Woods isn't due out until the 16th mate. As for how it controls, it would appear to be down to personal taste. A few people think it works fine, others felt it was too unresponisve. Until the actual game turns up though we'll just have to wait and see.

We should have impressions on Ridge Racer Ds in the next day or two (providing it turns up on time) and I may trade in my Boktai GBA and try and get hold of Band Brothers as well. Rest assured, the DS will be getting plenty of coverage in the mag and whilst the US launch date wasn't exactly inspiring (only Feel the Magic and Mario are really worth buying IMO) the Japanese stuff is much better.

you could probably sell it on here and get your full money back if it's not to your liking.

Daigasso! Band Brothers is a work of evil genius.
