And I thought Lylat wars was ' bad'

Now feel the magic has been changed to

    'project rub'

    Nice SOE~

    Way to go....

btw, shinobi should be changed to ' masked hero!'

okokok, enuff of my bitchings abt the stupidity of SOE and forgive me if it annoyed u.

What do u guys think of the name?
I much prefer feel the magic...I find it's a very unique name, kinda like sega saying ' play this game, see the difference'. Personally I find the game a big departure from the way one plays a game...thus I think it is a fitting name.

    But, project RUB???????

    Thoughts n opinions, anyone?

Project Rub I think Sony have got a crazy man in their ranks.

In a way it sounds like some cheap and nasty porn site.

They should keep the original name, sounds great to me.

Project Rub was the games name during development wasnt it?
still it doesnt excuse the fact it makes little sense to change what was a very good title. Maybe its for the benefit of our continental counterparts?

Yeah, Project Rub was the original name before Sonic Team changed it to Kimi Nara Shineiru in Japan, and Feel the Magic in the US.

Project Rub just sounds dirty to me, especially when you consider there is a girl on the front cover.

A similar thing happened with Tecmo's survival horror game Zero. It was originally called Project Zero, but they dropped the 'project' part for the JP release. Then it became Fatal Frame in the US, then bizarrely back to 'Project Zero' in Europe.

          Baffling.

I truly do not understand the lack of continuinty when it comes to pal region games.

Is terminator called ' the robot from future' in pal region?

Square had the right idea when they wanted to kick start the FF franchise in the west...bring FF7 over...keep the name , let ppl world wide know abt it under the ONE NAME. You don't see names of Tekken, VF being changed.

Even better, why is mario , mario in pal region?
Oh that's right, worldwide his name is MARIO!

They want brand recognition n yet making it hard to remember the names of their product.

Now, if u're telling me it's abt legal issues...ok ok ok. Tough **** no?

But if u're telling me ' it's becos we feel it is a better name'.

            Right......

but hey, this IS sega of europe. Maybe they are still unaware that the product has recieved an official name in the west and still thought of Project Rub being the official title.

I do not have a DS yet, but inorder to protect my sensitive eyes, I'm gonna go buy a US ver of the game so I don't have to put up with PROJECT RUB being displayed on my DS screen in the future!

I think it's a good name. It'll get people talking and checking out the game in the shops out of curiosity.

Of course they're aware it's called Feel the Magic. They've also given their reasons why they felt the name change were necessary and they're fully justified to do so. They could have just turned around and not even released the game, but no, they're trying to bring an enjoyable and unique title to Europe, spice up the name a bit and yet you're slating them for doing so.

So what if you think the game's got a stupid name, it's still a great game and deserves to be played regardlesss of what it's called. Christ, it's hardly as if they've called it '**** me in the arse while I suck off a goat and fondle its testicles'. I can't remember people moaning when they mentioned it had a different name to the Japanese version. Sometimes I reckon people on here just like to moan about any PAL release because it isn't cocking NTSC...

Honestly, some of you people are no better than the sodding sheep that buy the latest EA title. Next you'll be going on about how much better NTSC is then PAL...

Sorry about the rant, but I work with all these people in PR and it pisses me off when certain individuals get a bee in their bonnet over things that in the grand scheme of things don't matter a flying ****.

                  "Feel the Magic: XY XX".

Come on now folks, that is not a title you'd want to ask for over the counter. At least, not without a bag on your head. "Project Rub" is no improvement, but I can't see much to choose between the two.

That would be a great title for a game

Care to explain what their reasons were? They certainly haven't made a point of getting that info out.

Regardless, the majority certainly seem to think 'project rub' is a crap name.

JP name - I Would Die For You
US name - Feel the Magic
                        EU name - Project Rub.

One of these lacks a certain something.

Exactly. When I read it my first reaction with "cool". Its got a weird name in Japan hasn't it? Wasn't it called something like "I would die for you"? If thats the case, I hate my Feel the Magic XY XX and want it changed. LOL.. And as other people have said, "Project Rub" was its dev name, so in that respect I think it carries abit more cool about it over either of the other names.

                          And ITS JUST A NAME.

Further to this, I believe Nintendo (oh how we make as much effort as possible to knock them) had to change the name because "Starfox" was a registered name in Europe. Wasn't it a C64 game or something? Either way, I seem to remember my mates saying the PAL version was as playable as the NTSC versions.

And as for asking stuff over the counter, you seriously would have a problem asking for a game called "Feel the Magic XY XX"? Why? Are you not confident in your own opinions and tastes? Do you care what people think of your gaming tastes? Are you worried what people might think on a Saturday afternoon in GAME? Ohh better not ask for a weird game, people will think I am odd. "Need for Speed: Underground 2" please! "Phew that was close!! People might of that I was a gamer for a bit then".

As for SEGA Europe not being aware of its Western name - you're joking right? Please tell me you are.

Some people on here are so cut up on whether 20fps games like GTA: SA have 60hz options and SEGA Europe making the effort to try and bring an unusual game to a Euro market, you are forgetting the only thing that matters.

That's right, it was by Reaktor Software

Surely though, they would have been playing a game that was around 17.5% slower than their NTSc counterparts though

Glad to see you share my opinion though DC, not many do LOL
