Its Christmas!!!!

its that time of year again!

Although its not a good as being a kid (i still remember not being able to sleep knowing i was getting a NES, or mario 3 a few years later, or snes with sf2 a few years after that). but still, as reggie would say, "it IS game time"

Ive been doing some good giving this year, ive bought my girlfriend a DS with 2 games. she thinks shes getting a gba so itll be a nice suprise! from her ive asked for metroid prime 2 and some dvds.

what about you guys? what gaming goodness are you giving or getting?

Me and my brother are getting a DS each, with Mario64 DS each. Yeah, we are spoilt... But in my defence, I spend a lot on my parents too! Hah...

But yeah, I'm actually really looking forward to that, obviously.
Kinda funny really... I already have a PSP... kinda played these 2 consoles backwards! Gonna be interesting to see how well the DS stands now I'm used to my PSP.

Well it's just gone 10am now... all the present opening is long over for me...

I've been having some great fun with my brother on the DS... we were there for about an hour just messing around with Pictochat! I am impressed with the range of this thing... I had bad memories of the Infa-Red on the GBC, but we were at the other end of the room and both entered Pictochat randomly and started drawing pics to eachother. Great stuff!

That said, after playing Mario64 DS... it really doesn't seem so impressive after playing my PSP... I did this all backwards really, I should of played the DS first as the DS is at a slight disadvantage... but I'll leave all this for another topic!

Some other cool suprises came too! Namely Tales of Symphonia from my parents (man they know me too well!) and Devil May Cry 2 from my brother, which was rather random... since he's only a kid, I wasn't expecting a thing!
I also gave my brother Phantasy Star Collection on the GBA... he's a big PSO fan, but had never played the originals... here's hoping he'll enjoy playing that on his new DS

I got a load of Virgin Megastore vouchers from various members of my family, which would usually be useless as there's not much in the store I want - My gaming, musical (Metal and J-Music) and viewing tastes (Anime) go beyond what they cover... but I think I'll go get Final Fantasy I & II for the GBA... something to play on my DS eh?

I got myself Donkey Konga with 2 sets of bongos, Viewtiful Joe 2 and Wario Ware for the Gamecube. There was nothing I wanted on either XBOX or PS2 (still got loads of games to complete).

Saying that I've spent a couple of hours this morning playing the wanted mini game on Super Mario 64 DS (picked this and a DS up in New York last week) - 105 is my best so far - that game is so god damn addictive. Happy Christmas everyone!!

Well been playing my own DS now and I'm well chuffed with it. Got to say I'm very impressed with the quality of the 2 screens and this from someone whos seen the psp (which is excellent) but Nintendo deserve a lot of credit for them.

Well i bought the missus a DS with Mario and Wario:Touch (big thanks to Mayhem and Makemansj1 for supplying them).
She's loving Wario and is struggling a bit with the control of Mario DS but overall she's well impressed.
Too imressed for my liking as i'm itching for some Wario action.
She got me Zelda Minish Cap (with some guidance) and i'm rather looking forward to getting stuck into a new Zelda adventure.

I took the plunge and treated myself to a PSP last night off ebay, and also ordered a ****load of manga. Hopefully both should be here next week. My favourite christmas has to be back when I got tomb raider II and final fantasy VII. This christmas I've got some snowboarding gear, but its not got the magic it used to when we were younger.

Well i didnt get much for xmas but thats because i already bought myself a jpn ds & 9 games.

I got some jelly belly jellybeans (yummmy) & my mate got me a really fantastic present, he managed (god knows how) to get us tickets for the live little britain show next year the sold out in 6 hours flat so thats somthing to look forward to.

i've had a few small liverpool things from my mum, ?320 cash from her and her BF. ?5 gift voucher from someone me mum knows. aftershave chocs, boxers and socks.

no gaming stuff but i may spend some of the money on a game.

really happy with what i got a s i was only thinking i would get ?100.

Yeah, it's there on my 'to buy' list!

It's great actually, I have a huge backlog of GBA RPG's to get through... the Golden Sun games, the Breath of Fire games, FFTA... all of which I've been dying to play. The problem was I could never play the original GBA for more than 30 minutes without feeling major discomfort in my neck, due to the fact that I have to twist in really awkward angles to get any kind of decent lighting in my room!
I could have bought an SP, but I felt like I was buying the same console again...
With the DS's decent backlit and screen that you can move into whatever angle you want, I can finally catch up on some games that have been gathering dust!
