Stuck isn't a nice word, but when you are beached on the Isle of Wight, in a town with only a postoffice, a spar and a very very bad pub for company you tend to seek solace in bad Christmas TV, a pack of DVDs you've already watched and the Cube you remembered to pack.
And what game did I play? Well having had my memory card wiped 3 times in sucessesion over the last year... I decided to do some back tracking, I'm no ultra completest, but some games are just in a different league when it comes to grappling your attention from 100 best comedy moments.
Well from scratch, I've pretty much totally completed F-Zero GX... thats a veiled lie as anyone knows, completing F-Zero GX 100% would be like finding the arc of the covenant, but I've done the Grand Prix mode, unlocked most of the Arcade tracks, dabbled in Story and crushed those hopelessly pathetic times in Time Trial. Its a freaking good game, just the Arcade tracks seem a tad, well, simple compared to some of a demonic experiences in the Grand Prix mode.
Interestingly enough the most challenging Cup had to be Ruby Cup, the 3rd Cup, the balance of tracks from speed to technique, made finding a decent ship to race with was more intricate. In the end I buckled together a custom ship with C, A, A combination. Kicked Arse.
Anyways. F-Zero GX, pretty darn fine game, and if you haven't completed it, or even thought about completing it, give it another go. Its immense.
