Pricey? The ltd edition is AUS$199, that's around, hmmmm, ?4. Joking, joking. Still AUS$63 for the hardcover normal edition actually strikes me as being pretty good. Nice find! Thanks for the link!

The hardcover isn't bad in terms of price, but the limited edition (which they blatantly know the diehard fans will go for) seems to have outpriced itself on the basis of being leather-bound. It doesn't mention any new content to justify the hike either.

      Cynical.

No, but that's just it - unless you're a diehard collector and have the money you'll go for the normal hardcover edition and, precisely because the ltd ed has no new content, you shouldn't feel like you're missing out.

        I think that's fair enough.

I think it's good they're offering a choice between three versions. I just think it's cynical in terms of the price leap, which they've blatantly done for the 'limited edition' version to molly coddle the collector's instinct to come to the fore.

Oh they have absolutely and, yeah, that's a blatant 'grab more money' trick. But I'd actually feel far more hard done by if the ltd ed had like 10 extra pages or something as anyone who didn't shell out for it would feel like they are missing out. The extra $140 would not be worth the jump and yet there'd always be that feeling that you're missing out on something. This way you can buy the hardcover, or even the softcover, and get it all and be happy with the decision.

I bought the limited edition leather bound job as a Christmas pressie for myself. It's no different content-wise from the paperback version.
It is however tastfully bound in dark blue leather. Still in the shipping package it came in at the moment. Cant bring myslelf to expose it to the atmosphere

Heh, I know how that feels! But maybe that's a reason to go for the normal editions - for a fraction of the cost you could buy the hardcover edition to put away for posterity and the softcover edition to leaf through until it falls apart.

But, as a showpiece, I'd imagine the leatherbound version is well impressive. If I had a bit of extra cash floating around I'd get it.

I intend to get the paperback version should it become available in the UK, and you're right Dogg Thang, it looks well sweet in it's shrink-wrapping.

What number did you get Ian?

I would guess that the reason those ltd editions are so pricey is because they are indeed limited

1000 isn't a lot, I'm very tempted, but the numbers I want have already gone - May just go for the hardback...decisions decisions.

I was put off the leather-bound version 'cause, if you look at the publisher's overall range of books, they've pulled the same trick with just about everything they've released. Each of the leather-bound versions, regardless of the content, is exactly the same design.

                      Pffft.

If you're an iFidelity card holder, Stranger's Wrath can currently be had for a very attractive ?22 (including shipping) from DvdSoon.

                        Runs the customs gauntlet, though.

                          SS004.
I got number 400. I was a bit late off the mark, 1-10 were up for auction. 666 was gone 999 + 1000 gone, and most of the hundreds had also gone.

I see that pre-orders of the US release of the game come with a "best of" dvd, featuring FMV from the last 3 games...sounds kind of cool.
