    EDGE interview with Sonic Team

    - Sega is disappointed not to be making hardware anymore. But, not making hardware has given Naka the chance to work with lots of other companies and their hardware, so he's still happy.

    - The Xbox, while not successful in Japan, is still successful in Europe, the US, and Asturalia. Therefore, Sega will continue to support it.

    - Sonic Team will focus development on PS2.

    - Sonic Team's partnership with Nintendo is very strong.

    - Finally, a killer for Sonic fans. Originally, the plan was to include Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Melee. But, because of temporary reasons that could not be explained, it didn't happen. The door is open in the future, though, so perhaps we'll see Sonic appear in the next Super Smash Bros. game.
People may or herd this myth before, but apparently it was an April fools by some gaming magazine in the US.

It would have been interesting. If they added sonic in. He would need a trophy and if he had a trophy then it would have had his history. What do you think they would have said? ?Once Sega was a rival to Nintendo now just look at them lol!!!!1?

    That's brilliant

I always thought that Sonic wouldn't be very useful in SSBM. He would just disappear off the edge of the arena in the blink of an eye.
