I have no choice but to buy no games over the first couple of months of 2006. I'm currently skint paying off the combo of a HDTV/360 + games.

My aim for next year is to try and give online multiplayer gaming a chance. I never have before.

Only a couple of month ago i sold my 2 PS2's (Asian and US) and NGC as i needed the money for a new Guitar. Now i'm left with f*ck all to play. I missed my Gamecube more than anything else and have now ordered one. So my gaming resolutions for next year are:

      - Buy back the games i had for the Gamecube, except this time beat a game before i buy another.

      - Talk about games less and play them more.

      - Buy a White Nintendo DS, but this time keep it instead of selling it.

The above should keep me happy until the Rev comes out.

I keep saying I'll spend less buy less games etc and only get ones I really want, but it never happens for some reason.

Like I've got pretty much all of the first quarter of next year wrapped up games wise with Sega Rally 2006, Radilgy on DC and Chibi Robo, they "should" be all I need, especially as I'm scraping together to get a HDTV before saving for a 360, but at the same time, I know I'll buy about 20 other games I don't need nor will I bother playing them properly purely because I jus get random urges to play something new even tho I have about 20 perfectly good games sat in my drawer at uni awaiting completion.

So I guess I'm gonna do this for 2006 (I know the original resolution was for 2005 :P) I'm gonna try my best anyway.

Last year I made the resolution of ?40 a month and stuck to it pretty well. That afforded a new release and a couple of second-hand games (often from this very forum) so I managed to pretty much have something to play at all times. My only regret is that games I didn't buy at the time now seem hard to get a hold of. (Suikoden 4 for one, though I had a promo copy).

That's a fantastic resolution and I am guilty of that I regret to say.

Over the last say, 5 years, the amount of time I have to play games has decreased gradually and yet I am buying more just because I can. I must have hundreds (seriously) that I haven't got round to playing yet. My problem is that I'm a sucker for a bargain or good deal and also, if I've got money I just end up spending it on something I want and tell myself I will "get round to playing it" soon.

I must, MUST play a game, complete it and then move on instead of just dabbling in a few games, not completing them and talking about them most days on here.

I've decided to stop playing PC games again (Damn you Half-life 2 for making me upgrade again).
Mostly because I want to downgrade my PC and make it as quite as possible and just use it for work stuff.
Also this it the only way I can justify the large sum off money I have spent on a 360 and a shiney HD TV.

Buy less, complete more. That's my resolution as always. I'll fail miserably of course once more as there's just too much out there I want to experience :/

Mines simple: sell off all the excess filler and multiples of games/consoles i own to be left with just a handfull of the my perceived "essentials" on each console, giving me a smaller yet more personal and accomplished collection. Oh and get round to buying a bloody ps2 - i have 30 plus games for it yet no console to play on!

Not to buy anything else until I finish what I have, inc dvd's. Im a real monkey, buy everything but never get the time to finish any of them as im too busy looking for the next best thing.

Ive bought far too much stuff this year and have so many games that I havent even really got into at all.

I think my problem has been that I have been obsessed with getting bargains and although I havent paid full price for anything I have managed to buy more games than I can feasibly find time to play!!!

On my list to actually start playing and finish are -

                      Metal Gear Solid 3
                      Paper Mario 2
                      Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
                      KOTOR II
                      ICO

I want to clear the decks before I get SOTC and Dragon Quest VIII.........

If you're not a fan of the xbox style of gaming 2006 is going to be pretty cheap. You got these games to buy...

                        Zelda,Rogue Galaxy,Black and FF12.

And then with a bit of luck, no PS3 until November. Woohoo!

And as for what to do between now and then, there's more awesome this gen games to play than there are hours in the day.

Give it time. The current gen isn't dead yet.

Okami for one is the title it'll be signing out on for me (others will pin that accolade on Twilight Princess).

Spend more time actually playing games, and less time on this PC...
