Games that have caused a fight!

One game that stands out for me would be Mario Kart on the Super Famicom, my two mate's were playing it and one couldn't beat the other. All i remember is the one that kept losing picking up the pad and cracking it over the others head, he roled about on the floor in agony (as you do). Serious then, but funny now when i think about it!

Oh, by the way, the two of them were brothers. That's what i call brotherly love. LOL.

Settlers 1 - split screen with 2 mice and Civ 2 multiplayer (I know they're both PC games but I can't remember any fight moments in my admittedly short console career). We used to get into massive stalemates to which the only solution was to fight for full control of the PC - never seriously but after a few minutes the game would be forgotten and fighting would take over completely.

If those bastards with the energy swords were in my house, there would be fights.

Gitaroo Man 2 player with my bro... for 2 years nothing but fights over who had the easier riffs to play.

Super puzzle fighter 2 caused so much hassle my mum took it away from us. Sonic 3 time attacks also caused a few bust-up with my mates (having the item boxes on is cheating!)

Goldeneye tournaments, held every saturday, we used to do 2 teams of 2 playing each other to the final etc

one day, my mate (initialed) MW was teamed with DF, we all knew this was gonna turn out nasty, MW being some sort of ninja/leader of the group and DF being the picked on of the bunch, they lost a game and MW picked up a lucozade bottle (glass one) and smacked him on the head and he passed out, not really a fight but still, i pissed myself

Sadly our fights always used to be 'pre-game' - about who's turn it was, or who was going to take on the computer. I'm not sure we ever reached the 'in game fight' stage - it all kicked off a bit more prematurely!

            Kids ....

              Civ 3.

We had about 8 people haul their computers round for a massive LAN game of the thing (since it's a slow game, it was kind of a 'Read Comics, talk crap, get drunk' night anyway), and this one guy whom none of us really knew just Trash-Talked constantly and loudly for about an hour until somone slammed his laptop lid down on his fingers and whacked him round the head.

              Cue carnage.

Ethernet cable being ripped out everywhere.

Edit - Oh, and Wario Ware on the GC. Our gaming room only has 3 chairs (deliberate), and woe betide you if you're slow, and have to sit on the floor in front of the other players...

                Kuri Kuri Mix - PS2.

Slept on the couch for three nights after my wife and I nearly knifed each other over the music level.

I thought it might be fun, with us both sharing one pad.

"A game of co-operation to bring us closer together" I exclaimed. Not knowing the horrors and screaming that would follow...

Any game where the players share continues is always good for causing fights, if only verbal ones. MERCs stands out as a particularly strong example in my mind.

Kuri Kuri mix...I had the exact same experience. If you play with someone who is not great at games in general expect continuous screams of "PULL THE ****ING LEVER YOU SILLY SLAG" I shocked myself at that game, and it is such a gentle little game!

Mario Tennis 64 4 player...plenty of fights over that one. It is SUCH a competitive game, distraction techniques were always employed, especially with 1st serves

The best hardcore 2 player game that in my experience NEVER induces arguments is Monkey Target on Super Monkey Ball, the original. SOOOOO intense for a turn based 2 player, which I didnt think iwould really like at all.

A good ole SNES SF2 game would usually end in fisty cuffs between me and my brother

Mario Kart 64 for me. Every weekend me and my cousins would play(and still play) block fort 4 player battle mode. It would always start with a bit of trash talking, you know the standard stuff, very amicable though. Things would take a turn for the worse though when one player(usually me) would get totally bummed by one or more players. Most MK64 players will know the feeling of total and utter embarassment of being wiped out in one go by someone with triple green shells and a star(at least I hope they do since it may just have been me and my crappy skills). The player that got done over would be swearing madly and giving evil eyes to the guy that was responsible. Looking back on it, it was f-ing hilarious because we'd all start the night being very friendly and playing for a laugh but things would quickly turn sour. By the end of the night we'd all be swearing at each other on the verge of a free for all brawl. Still my story doesn't seem as bad as some of the stuff here, I mean hitting a guy on the head with a glass lucozade bottle

                              You may not believe this:

                              Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road

A friend of mine also suffered an entire week of isolation from his housemates as a result of a particularly heated Halo incident.
