    How far would you go?

    For the latest release.....!!!

June 1996 - I drove from Stockport to Bath (Edge HQ) and back in 1 day to get my imported Japanese N64 a day earlier than I would have got it had I waited for the postie the following morning!

So I made sure I got my petrol's worth and stayed up ALL night on Mario 64 and Pilotwings and it was worth it!

What made it worse was my co-pilot for the journey fell asleep just outside of Birminghman for the rest of the outward trip - so much for the conversation!

So come on then, I know I am not the only impatient S.O.A.B out there with a soft spot for the latest import release!!!!

Furthest i've been i guess is the 75 or so miles from Leeds to Blackpool when Ridge Racer was first released in the arcades.

Well worth it at the time too.

      Now thats hardcore! :P

I've not done anything crazy to get a game on release although for PAL release games, I usually pre-order 2 from different companies to make sure I get one on the day or usually the day before release then just send one back! :P

Those days will never come again - now it's just a matter of how trusting you are of people on Ebay with your Credit Card...

Saying that I did wait outside in the bitter cold for 45 minutes on Halo2 launch...

I caught the train with a mate when we were 14 from Birmingham to London to pick up our Japanese Sega Megadrives back in 1990. They were still reasonably new then and it was a pretty cool day trip.

I've only gone as far as from Stockport to Stoke to go pickup a copy of GT3, only 45 mins on the train.

From Exeter to Bournemouth (88 miles) just to play on the F-Zero AX test machine in Segaworld.

I spent ?30 that day, just on F-Zero. I would have spent more too, if other people hadn't been playing.

I havent really travelled that many miles to any place for one game before. The only things I have done is gone 10 miles or so to my local indie shop for the midnight launch of Gran Turismo 3, The Xbox Launch and Halo 2.

Although when i picked up my Neo Geo AES I travelled with some mates to London with the sole purpose of picking up King of fighters '98 fo the machine. Also we've gone on regular daytrips to Bourmouth (About 2 hours away from my place) to visit SEGA park and have a night out.

Luckly I dont have to travel that far to get what I want!

Deja Vu - driven Stockport to Stoke about 300 times in my gaming history for the latest import - we could have probably car shared!!!

If i can get confirmation that the Trocadero in London now has Outrun 2 SP in then myself and $c8t@ are driving the 200 miles from Doncaster to London tomorrow.

BTW. If anyone fancies meeting up with us for some races etc then PM me.

Outrun 2 SP, I need to play that. Might ring around all the local cinema's and ring the Namco Station at the The Trafford Centre to see if they have it. If not, I'm well going down to London!

Just rang Manchester Namco Station, they said Nope. What a rubbish arcade.

Would it be worth ringing local cinemas?

                            Update.

Just phoned Funland Trocadero and they've confirmed that they have the game.

Gonna be there tomorrow from around mid morning at a guess depending on M1 traffic.

Yesss! I'm well going down there ASAP, unless some arcade owner up north gets some sense and gets it in...
