A recent court ruling prohibits stores from modding PS2's, so most of the relaible big-name stores no longer provide such a service.

The DMS4 EZI is due out any time now though... solderless autobooting modchip... worth looking into.

The indies in Glasgow still chip them. They openly advertise it as well

They're in the south but Xbox Breakers do it even if they don't advertise it on their main site so email them and ask about it. They did a great job chipping my PS2 (slimline model) with a DMS4, enabling me to get MGS3 when that came out in the US.

It's certainly _not_ the best idea to discuss this on a public forum.

Although we chip our machines to play imports, I'm sure the law doesn't give a monkeys bottom and considers us all pirates. So don't advertise to the entire world those places which are running a risk and still providing you with this service.
