Prices of UK DS games

I would have imported my DS games anyway but that is a complete joke, right? I would have guessed ?30 and I'd say even that is expensive - ?25 would have been the perfect price for them; competitive against the PSP and everything else on the market, guaranteed to sell, and likely to deter imports and maybe even piracy

Reading the product information makes it clearer that they're covering themselves
As you are probably aware, Nintendo are yet to confirm the final pricing or release date for their forthcoming DS. This information is due to be announced imminently, but in the meantime, we expect the machine to be released before the end of March, with a selling price that is hoped to be no more than ?149.99.
The same is true of the pricing for the software, but we expect each title to be no more than ?39.99, with release details being confirmed shortly.
As with all new console hardware releases, there are expected to be very tight allocations upon launch, but if you reserve yours with Simply Games;
*
Your order will go straight into our allocation queue
*
Your credit card will only be debited when your order is ready for dispatch
*
If the final pricing is less than highlighted here, you will pay the lower price
*
We will try our very best to get your order to you for the day of releaseLast edited by Ginger Tosser; 17-01-2005, 22:45.

I hope Ninty gets done again for price-fixing.
Remember that other factors such as taxes and cost of living contribute to the price of items in this country.
I still personally believe that games, espeically those for handheld systems should be considerably lower but until it becomes mass market to the same level as film and music this is unlikely to happen.

GBA games are $30 in The States. They are ?30 over here.
DS games are $30-$40 in The States. Why wouldn't the stupid, greedy idiots at Nintendo Europe think they can get away with the same price structure again?
Personally I would expect the games to be ?30 but wouldn't in the least bit surprised to see them costing more.

They have two choices I suppose. Make them more expensive than GBA games or reduce the price of GBA games. Hmmm... I know which option is the most likely.
Trouble is they are likely to be priced in Gamecube territory which, seeing as the GC is going to be somewhat cheaper than the DS, I am sure they will be more than happy with that state of affairs.
