    Atari are back

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

Seems a desperate ploy from Infogrames to be honest but we shall see. Its only a name after all and unless they have the old people on board then it ain't Atari is it??!! Bit like making Terminator 3 to me, better to leave it to the memories.

    What's everyone else think??

The Atari name has been used by Infogrames before, Xbox Need for Speed uses the name for publishing.

I don't know of a company that hasn't had people come and go, so virtually no brand name still has the original people behind it - and with software particularly, a brand name doesn't necassarily denote title quality, particularly as dev teams change from game to game. Maybe they want the brand name recognition.

I'd personally be more concerned about The Matrix game selling off the back of the film rather than as a quality title, we shall see.

    Regards
    Marty
