Same here, Halo 2 lasted 4 days for me. Brought on a Friday, really wanted to get into it after all i've heard. Never got to grips with it online, but by that point i'd decided to return it to woolies for a refund on the following Monday.

Likewise. I completed the game once, and then twice out of obligation to see it through on Heroic. I've tried to start another time since, but like Snake Eater, something distracts or compels me to turn it off, either out of apathy or boredom.

It certainly isn't as good or as compulsive as Halo.

I made it to level 3 - graphically it looks great however it hasn't grabbed me like Halo did.

I bought Ghost Recon a week earlier & it's hardly left my Xbox - I'm finding it strangely compelling. Will probably get the 'add-on' Island Thunder?? & complete that then I'll probably go back to Halo 2.

Completed in in a few hours to be honest (not all at once but I think I spent 6 hours max on it), on medium, didnt touch the original, I am playing it via a loan off a mate now, I enjoyed the online matches but its going the way of Battlefront, OK at first then I lost intrest after 2 weeks. I am failing to see the pull really, I got it after playing a bit of multiplayer at work and it 'is' good for that but there are so many other better FPS on the PC, HL2,Farcry, Battlefield to name a few.

Oh the story wasn't much to write home about, no unexpected plot twists really, maybe a few but nothing too amazing.

I've not played it over Live for over a week now (longest I've been without Halo 2 since release), but that is largely due to Resident Evil 4, new PC and Half-Life 2. I will return, and I look forward to it. I still believe that in a good game, so long as you have the right people, it's pretty much untouchable.

when played with a good bunch of people online it's superb (just never play with a guy called 'cyberelectric' he's a grade a bellend). offline though i played it and got to the point where audrey 2 makes his(her?) entrance and almost turned off the xbox in disgust. it took me about 3 weeks before i even bothered to play camapign again.

                feed me seymour!
f*ck that. halo2 was rushed so badly it's unfunny... was done almost start to finish in 5/6 months they say on the dvd.

Campaign pretty much got everything wrong, as far as I'm concerned. Where were the lush, open landscapes with odd pockets of cover here and there that made the original so memorable? Not here. Instead, we get a bunch of corridors and identikit rooms - by far the dullest things in the first game, here expanded to fill up nearly the entire experience. Feh.

I have no urge to return to campaign, and I've yet to finish it entirely. I'm on the last level, right before the end, but just can't be arsed. What's the point, when half the levels can be completed by simply running through them from point A to point B, ignoring every enemy that appears?

Multiplayer, on the other hand, I've loved up until recently. Matchmaking is fine until you start getting put with people at or above level 16, which is where you suddenly find every single game being screwed up by the presence of cheaters. Either that or morons who think that, just because you roundly whupped them, you must have been cheating yourself and so give you as much abuse as possible. Before, presumably, leaving you negative feedback on the postgame screen and giving you an apparently random chance of having your Live account suspended.

                  A ****ing mess, tbh.

i just think kids should be banned from playing.... nobody sane would keep the bomb hidden off the bloody level just because they'er losing. i read one story of a game going on for 3 hours in sudden death as nobody wanted to quit and lose points.

                    ffs.

Dude... did you read the "five hour" thread on the awful official forum?

"Please help! We've been playing a game of Assault on Headlong, and after we went 1-0 up the other team flew their bomber up onto the top of a building and left him there. It's been five hours and we can't get to him! If anyone from Bungie is reading this, can they please kick the other team out of the game?"

Official word? It's not considered to be cheating. At a guess, I'd have to say that's just because there's stuff all they can do to fix it. <Edit - Mind you, you've got to question the sanity of anyone who spends over five hours trying to kill one person in an unreachable spot, just for the sake of a meaningless stat.>

And now there are stories of a spot on Midship where you can throw the bomb so that nobody can pick it up. Whoop-de-do. Those games are going to be fun.

I don't think Bungie thought through being penalised for leaving a game early if people are going to pull that sort of **** what other choice do you have, did anyone really playtest this thing (seriously did no one look at any gameplay bugs?), bring back Unreal at least all I have to worry about is wall hacks

I agree with Pete's sentiments. Through work and upcoming work-related exams, I've got no time for any games right now. But the only game I want to play is Halo 2 (Live of course). With a good crowd of even players it is just sublime.

As for the single player, I liked it and it held my attention for a while-but now that I've experienced Live I'm not sure any single player game could keep me interested long term. But that is because I've always prefered playing games against people, which for me used to mean them being in the same room. Through the Friends list and headset for all, Live has made online gaming feel just like playing with friends in the same place.

Played it for a while then chucked it on the shelf, considering how long it was in development, can't believe how boring and samey it was.

Haven't played it online though, still aint got time, addicted to world of Warcraft at the moment.
