Tempest X3

I see there's a 2nd hand copy of the game at my local store and was wondering should I pick it up.

I know its not the best port in the world but I don't think I'm going to be buying a Jaguar anytime soon and would like to sample some of this Jeff Minter magic I've been hearing about.

Tempest X3 is worth picking up. It may not be as pure as T2000 but its better than no Tempest.

If you haven't played 2000, then X3 is very nearly as good, and includes a reasonable port of 2000 as a hidden extra. The frame rate is higher, but there are a few gameplay tweaks in the 2000 port that spoil it a bit over the original.
